How was your Valentine's Day this year?
I know, it's been a while already! I've wanted to post this since last month but I've been busy, I hope you can forgive me for the delay!
This year @enderlouis and I were celebrating our 13th Valentine's Day, and we wanted to do something new, so... we went on a picnic!
We had a lot of fun, so I want to tell you about our adventure.

¿Qué tal la pasaron el día de San Valentin este año?Lo sé, lo sé, ya pasó un buen rato! Yo quería publicar esto desde el mes pasado pero he estado super ocupada, ¡perdonen el retraso!Este año @enderlouis y yo celebraríamos nuestro San Valentín número 13, y queríamos hacer algo novedoso, así que... ¡nos fuimos de Picnic!Me divertí muchísimo, por lo que quiero contarles cómo fue nuestra aventura.

Descubriendo El Laguito
El lugar que escogimos para nuestro picnic fue un espacio natural recreativo llamado "El Laguito", que queda al sur de la ciudad.
Fuimos a conocerlo el 13 de enero de este mismo año, motivados por las fascinantes recomendaciones de nuestros amigos.
Esa primera vez, aunque no teníamos ningún plan especial, la experiencia en ese lugar nos resultó mágica, ya que se respira agradable aire fresco y puedes compartir con la simpática fauna local, compuesta por aves silvestres, guacamayas, patos, gansos, tortugas, y peces casi tan grandes como los gansos.
Aún así, ese día vimos varios grupos de personas haciendo picnic, así que, para afirmar que habíamos vivido la experiencia en su mayor potencial, ¡teníamos que volver para hacer uno! ¿Y qué mejor día para hacerlo que el día de los enamorados?

"What does it take for a successful picnic?" we asked ourselves.
Food, of course! But also a basket to carry the food, and a fabric to sit peacefully on the grass without being bitten by ants.
Luckily we already had the basket. Check! What's next? Get the fabric!
"¿Qué hace falta para un picnic exitoso?" nos preguntamos.
¡Comida, naturalmente! Pero también una canasta para llevar la comida, y una tela para sentarse tranquilamente en la grama sin que nos picaran las hormigas.Por suerte ya teníamos la canasta. Check! ¿Lo siguiente? ¡Conseguir la tela!
We went downtown and bought some lovely checkered fabric, and we also took the opportunity to buy a mold to prepare the Bread!
As you can see in this post, one of Ender's love languages is cooking delicious things for me; he has done it with dedication since the beginning of our relationship, so the food for our picnic would be no exception!
Fuimos al centro de la ciudad y compramos una adorable tela de cuadritos, y también aprovechamos de comprar un molde para preparar el Pan!
Como pueden ver en este post, uno de los lenguajes de amor de Ender es cocinarme cosas ricas; lo ha hecho con esmero desde los inicios de nuestra relación, así que la comida de nuestro picnic no sería excepción!
So, the day before our picnic Ender got down to dough (literally)!
It wasn't his first time making bread, so it turned out majestic:

No era su primera vez haciendo pan, así que quedó majestuoso:
It was his first time making chocolate chip cookies, tho. They didn't get chunky, but still tasted delicious.
Sí era su primera vez haciendo galletas con chispitas de chocolate. No se pusieron gorditas pero igual sabían deliciosas.
So, with everything ready, the day of the picnic arrived, and the last thing we added to our basket was a couple of glasses and sangria to toast!
Así pues, ya con todo listo, llegó el día del picnic, y lo último que añadimos a nuestra canasta fue un par de vasos de vidrio y una sangría para brindar!

Nuestro Picnic de amor!
We dressed up nice and perfumed and went to the Laguito for the second time! We couldn't go on February 14 itself because it was a Wednesday and we were working, but we went the following Saturday.
We found a place with a nice view to place our fabric and set up our food.
Nos pusimos lindos y perfumados y nos fuimos por segunda vez al Laguito! No pudimos ir el mismo 14 de febrero porque era un miércoles y estábamos trabajando, pero fuimos el siguiente sábado.
Conseguimos un lugar con linda vista para colocar nuestra tela, y dispusimos nuestra comida.
We took romantic couple selfies, feeling happy and blessed that we have been accompanying, supporting, and improving each other for 13 years.
Nos sacamos selfies románticas de pareja, sintiéndonos felices y bendecidos de que ya sean 13 años acompañándonos, apoyándonos y mejorándonos mutuamente.
And since photography is another of Ender's love languages, he took the opportunity to take some beautiful portraits of me with his professional camera!
Y como la fotografía es otro de los lenguajes de amor de Ender, aprovechó para sacarme unos bellísimos retratos con su cámara profesional!
After capturing the moment, the time came: the feast began!!!
Luego de haber capturado el momento, ahora sí, ¡Comenzamos el festín!!
Ender poured the sangria and we toasted. Its sweet taste went perfectly with the cheese bread and chocolate chip cookies!
Ender sirvió la sangría y brindamos. Su sabor dulce combinó perfecto con el pan de queso y las galletitas de chocolate!
Ender has a tradition of capturing me every time I'm eating bread, so this photo was a must:
Ender tiene la tradición de capturarme cada vez que estoy comiendo pan, así que esta foto no podía faltar:
A duck and a pigeon approached us to ask for bread, and we gladly shared it with them! It was super fun to be surrounded by little animals.
Un pato y una paloma se acercaron a pedirnos pan, y nosotros con gusto lo compartimos con ellos! Fue super divertido estar rodeados de animalitos.

And although the little animals made us laugh, and the food was delicious, we still had one final highlight: the watercolors!
Y aunque los animalitos nos hicieron reír, y la comida estaba deliciosa, todavía teníamos un broche de oro: Las acuarelas!
Ender had the fantastic idea that we could entertain ourselves during our picnic by immortalizing the beautiful scenery in front of us, and for that, we took along a set of watercolors, brushes, and a notebook with white sheets.
Ender tuvo la fantástica idea de que podíamos entretenernos durante nuestro picnic inmortalizando el hermoso paisaje que tendríamos al frente, y para eso nos llevamos un set de acuarelas, pinceles y un cuaderno de hojas blancas.
It was quite a challenge, since neither of us had any experience painting with watercolors and, as the sun was already setting, we had to paint against the clock, but that made it even more fun!

Fue todo un reto, ya que ninguno de los dos teníamos experiencia alguna pintando con acuarelas y, como ya caía el ocaso, teníamos que pintar a contrarreloj, pero eso lo hizo aún más divertido!

It was a wonderful day! Everything I had imagined and more, the best picnic of my life, with the person I love the most. This moment is now imprinted in my memory with gleeful watercolor brushstrokes.
¡Fue un día maravilloso! Todo lo que había imaginado y más, el mejor picnic de mi vida y junto a la persona que más amo. Ese momento quedó grabado en mi memoria con risueñas pinceladas de acuarela.
