Unexpected Feedback!

One of the things myself and my wife love to do on the Missions field is to make welfare materials available to the natives of the community we reside in.

So for the past four months we had been gathering shoes, clothes, bags and other welfare materials from every part of the nation so we could share to the natives of our Missions Field. I had just been deployed late last year.

My wife wasn't around this particular Sunday but I decided instead of keeping the materials at home I would just take it out and share to the people.

I did. But what followed was rather shocking.

I shared treated mosquito nets, clothes for children and a few for adults, shoes and bags.

After the sharing, I started getting negative feedback from some of the people who I expected to be at least grateful for the effort put into getting these materials available.

They complained that I didn't get enough materials, and that I didn't wait until many others were around. They said I should have given the materials to the elders to share instead of doing it "anyhow."

Men! This definitely set my tooth on the edge. I couldn't imagine the amount of complaints that came from an action I expected would spur joy and gladness.

Anyway, I decided to let go on the grounds that it is a rural area and there was still need to grow in all aspects including emotionally and mentally.

I decided not to stop the good deeds, in fact, I organized another medical outreach in the field.

I believe with time the natives will come to appreciate and understand that it's for the love of God and humanity we reach out to them.
