Wooden women: for International Women's Day

A day that blooms and illuminates all women in the world, so I wanted to dedicate a post sharing my collection of wooden women.

My congratulations to @mipiano, for opening her arms to this beautiful community, and to all the women who today enjoy this beautiful day.

Although my mother is no longer physically in this life, she is always present in the hearts of my family and all the friendships that always loved her. Congratulations mom.

These handcrafted wood carvings are part of a collection in my home, something she cherished. Each one of them were gifts she acquired throughout her years.

Some came from distant lands and others were made in Cuba. All of them represent chronological stages, qualities and physical attributes of a woman.

The following two photos represent the professional woman who puts her knowledge, focus and perseverance at the service of society. The one who, after finishing her workday, arrives home to continue focusing on housework and caring for her family.

It reflects the contrast of her character, with the care of her external appearance. Dedicating minutes of her sacred time to make her two braids that frame her neck.

She is followed by a young woman, stylized in her bearing and stature, representing her taste for all artistic manifestations, music, dance, painting and everything that distills a fertile and creative mind.

For her, beauty is in the balance of all her parts, from her long silky hair that caresses her back, to the light that flows from her personality.

These 3 images present us with a mature woman, with well-groomed hair and a straight cut gravitating to the middle of her back. A warrior with a high self-esteem, who carves her way with independence, and who exposes her physical blessings and those harmonic curves that awaken the eyes in her daily walk.

The variety and contrasts of the environment in which we live, gives charm and color to life. This includes the races.

This middle-aged negroid woman, with the glow of her ebony skin and her fluffy hair, shows extroversion and is not afraid to show her naked torso with her breasts pointing to the sky.
She knows how to delimit her dreams and the delivery of her passion.

Finally, we have the elderly woman, who has overcome each of the previous stages and who recognizes with acceptance her new reality. She has enjoyed her years of physical blossoming and can now nourish her soul and her emotions with the beautiful memories and experiences she has gathered throughout her life.
