30 Nights of Gratitude πŸŒ™ #1: My Family

in voilk β€’Β  4 months ago

In this Ramadan, I saw it fit to talk about people and things in my life that I'm grateful for. The daily struggles and happenings life's throws at us might make us forget how blessed we are. Ramadan is the best time for year to remember to count our blessings and thank God. All praise be to Allah.

Today, I'll talk about my Family.

My father is one of the helpful people I know. He doesn't hesitate to offer help to people whenever he can, and he doesn't burden others if he could do something by himself. If he decided to do something, he'll try a long time and tries different approaches until he accomplished it.

My father used to be strict when I was a child. He'd hit us, (sometimes painfully,) when we did something wrong. He has gone softer over the years, we rarely see the strict side of his anymore, other than harsh talk when he's angry.

My father might not be brave. There are more than a few things he avoids or outright admit scares him. He's great at facing his fears, (unlike me.) He's a bit sensitive sometimes, but I find that part of him relatable. No one is perfect.

My mother is the most amazing woman I knew. She's hardworking, kind and patient. She's suffering from diabetes yet you'd won't think she doesn't have that illness if you saw her due to her determination. She's a great math teacher, and she's the reason I was great at school as a child.

She spends all her days thinking of us.

She taught us all the good values, and she instilled in us the love for Islam. Her views on religion, and many subjects are similar to mine, while my siblings are more similar to my father.

My brother is a great man. He's a Civil Engineer and spends most of the day working. Compared to him, I'm technically a NEET, yet he still looks up to me and asks me for advice.

He's also my anchor when it comes to adhering to Islamic standards, we both don't want to disappoint the other one and we correct each other a lot.

My sisters are true hustlers. The younger of them is still in the college and the older one already has a job. I feel they understand life better than me, and I'm grateful for what they do for us.

I'm grateful for many things when it comes to my family.

I hope your families are good to each other too, drear reader. If you aren't on good terms with your family, I pray something changes for the better this Ramadan.

If your parents are still around, tell them that you love them. I would tell mine after writing this article.

    Thanks for Reading
