Every Vote Counts: My Vote in the General Election Pakistan 2024

in voilk •  5 months ago

First of all, I would like to make it clear that I am not a part of any political party or ran any campaign or posted or supported any content or post in social media regarding any party. I am here to share my experience of General Elections which held on 8th Feb in Pakistan and few logics and facts as per my opinion and mindset. Different people have different mindsets and thinking about the votes and election thing and maybe it would be better for others if I could be of any help in changing or updating their thinking regarding your votes and elections.

This was my third vote of my life. I first gave my vote in 2013 and then in 2018 and then, this is the third time. As I said in my title of my post, every vote counts and yes, that is definitely something which I want to shout out loud to those who do not think of going out on election day and stamping on someone which you would think would be better for the society and for the country. Well, let just say none of them looks good to you but then there should be a valid reason behind it, not just because of some silly reason. There is always someone in the list which is still to be given a chance to prove themselves. I do not support any particular party but I am in the favor of giving and utilizing my vote instead of wasting it. It is also the responsibility of every responsible citizen to cast vote instead of just blaming others without even trying ourselves to change anything for good. Trying for something good is better than doing nothing and waiting for some miracle to happen. Whatever I just said is my thinking and purely my opinion.

Yesterday was a public holiday which most people here enjoy in waking up late and spending day with the family but I saw a major change when I went outside to cast my vote. I was as always in the full mood to cast my vote. The problem was our polling station according to our address on our identity card is 20 km away from our home address. Still I decided to go via online bike but my Mother interfered and planned to go with me to cast vote. It was all because of me because my Parents were not ready to sent me to that distance all alone so finally, my Father called and booked a car in which my Parents and myself went to cast our votes.

On our way, I saw and noticed that the whole city was full of flags and banners of different political parties. Their signs and symbols were decorated all over the place in the city. Their messages were shared in the banners to the people of the city. OMG! what an investment, remember that nothing is free in this world so this is just an investment to earn double if anyone gets a chance lol we all are fed up of politics, we always think of negativity.

I was very happy to see that people of all ages came out of their houses to cast their votes and show their responsibility. It doesn’t matter to whom you support, people coming out and taking part in this event shows its importance. Security was well maintained and the polling station staff was very helpful and nice. Cell phones were not allowed so I missed taking the pictures inside the polling station. I am not sure why mobile networks were put off by the government just because of security reasons. Well, it doesn’t affected us. We casted our votes and went back home. it is always a nice feeling to think of ourselves as a responsible citizen. Almost after more than 24 hours, I just checked and saw that the party to whom I casted my vote didn’t win from that area. Well, at least I tried to give them chance to proof themselves as I liked their principles and I wanted to see my city and country in a good situation with happy people living in it. I just hope for the best in coming days. Cheers!
