Caladium's twin brother

Hello Ecency friends, today I want to study us and want to show the photos I captured in the fields using my handheld cellphone.
    Do you know this plant???

This is the twin brother of the taro, namely the Birah tree. Birah trees are divided into two types, green and slightly purplish. This time we only found Birah trees with green stems.

Caladium is a plant that is not cultivated in our region, but this plant grows without any intervention from farmers, especially with its twin brother, birah.

This tree has an itchy sap like taro, but this tree is itchier than taro. During the Dutch colonial era, our ancestors used to consume this to survive because at that time there was a great shortage of food such as rice, corn and even fruit. the final solution is to eat this fruit.

This tree is more itchy than taro, but our ancestors were able to process it for food in a special way, we deliberately hid the processing method so that one day, if we had trouble getting food, we could turn again to the Birah tree.

To this day, people still consume purplish birah trees because purplish birah trees are easier to process than green birah trees.

OK, that's enough for this meeting, we'll meet again next time with a different theme
