Introduction
We are leading up to a major change that is coming to Splinterlands. This will definitely be a huge shakeup, are you ready for it? Something that we are very used to will no longer be there. The last big changes we experienced include the change of percentage for ECR to become discreet and also the change from CP to determine league to staked SPS to determine the league.
Upcoming Change
Rank Battle Overhaul
Goodbye Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond leagues. In the new overhaul all these will be gone. Previously many were hoarding these leagues and not advancing to climb the league leaderboards. People previously build league specific account and keep playing without advancing so as not to meet players with stronger cards.
Now, we cannot avoid not advancing league. But to me, the motivation of these changes as shared by the developers actually help with the onboarding of new members. Without the hassle of being bothered over which league, now players can just play and their rating will go up and down and naturally settle within a certain rating level. So this will incite a growth mindset, continuous growing of deck to compete at higher level which is good.
This upheaval will need some time to adjust to. Right now, it means I have to be on a continuous improvement of my cards. I have observed price starting to increase for cards in the market, so for sure, people are snapping up cards.
As mentioned by the developers, there will be more changes coming up. And I can see that the developers are working hard to improve the gaming experience to attract more players. Let's continue to look forward and see how things will become upon this week's EOS when the new system kick in.
Closing
I am excited for this change, though it does make my growth journey slowed down. It is for the greater good of the economy and for new player assimilation. Hope I can adapt well into this change and continue my growth.
