Talk It Out Thursday | Feminism Is Funny

For a while now or let’s say for some time now I believe we’ve all been hearing the word feminism. I even hear how some rappers and singers talk about this in their songs. To be honest, I don’t really understand the words, but it sure sounds funny from the first time I heard it.

To cut the long story short, I heard about how some women have been talking about being independent and non reliance on a man. Hence they don’t want to start a family nor do they wish to have one. Anything holding a man back from starting a family are only financial issues but these days what’s holding most women back cuts across finance.

My stance on this is really from a man’s perspective, so I agree that I might be biased in some ways, but first hear me out.

Nowadays, it seems many women are getting trapped into this funny term where you now find it easy for women to say that they don’t want to be with a man nor do they want to have kids in the future.

Recently, there was even a report done in China about women wanting to live life without having kids nor committed to a man.

In China, this is termed “lie flat”, meaning to do enough to get by and save up for travels.

What’s wrong with all of this is that, in the first place, these people who are all advocating for being childless are a child themselves. So I wonder why they didn’t want to get married and have their kids.

I’ve said these times without numbers that as a generation, we’ve so much become too comfortable.

I believe that has made a lot of our human instincts wear away to the extent that we would let just anyone hypnotize us, to the extent that we just follow something blindly just because many others are doing it.

This is something I read on the news about Chinese women who are now trying to live without committing. This, however, is also something I’ve seen happen here in Nigeria that now makes many women want to have kids alone without committing to a man.

This, I believe, is going to eventually lead to a disconnection between a man and a woman in the future.

And I really fear for how much this will affect humanity if this hypnosis keeps on going because that’s how I see it as no matter how love and relationships seems to be a hard thing to do, I sure still believe in love.

And don’t think love is without pain. Pain is a whole part of the process. But I guess many are too focused on happiness that they don’t want any pain in their lives because it means they are being used by the other person.

Pain I heard is the greatest teacher.

But who are we when we shy away from pain?

I don’t have an answer, but I’m hoping you do. Share your thoughts below in the comments.
