Here are some summer finds for this #fungifriday by @ewkaw
Here is some raspberry slime mold growing in a hollowed out log. Also as a bonus the green colored wood indicated that there is blue green cup fungi mycelium in that log too. I just have to come back here again when it is a bit cooler and wet to see the fruiting body.
Here is some white jelly roll. Quite common here during hot summer rains. Technically it is edible but it has no taste and falls apart when cooked so it is not really useful for anything but slugs.
Here is Ramaria stricta I think. Sadly this one grows from the ground and ramaria that doesn't grow out of the wood tends to cause stomache aches.
My daughter now knows how to say mushroom and she points them out on walks now. She even noticed the ones growing on the side of this stump chair.
I suspect these are fresh turkeytail starting to grow out of the dead wood.
I think this one may be Russula ochroleuca.
Technically it is edible but needs to be cooked to remove any subtle toxins. Taste isn't too distinctive.
I think this may be a Russula emetica that got a bit dried out.
Sadly this one is nicknamed the vomiter as it is toxic and causes vomiting if eaten lol.
Now for a toad. My daughter got to pet this one on the head.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
