Easter is on us. Time to visit the Royal Easter Show in Sydney. Not been for quite a few years. Agricultural shows are in my DNA as I did all the financial work to move the show in Johannesburg to its new site all those ago. Sydney Olympics did this move in 2000
New stadia built
Vendor alley on the way in. Busy when we arrived
Easter egg hunt
Take a train ride. Model railway in the tunnel. We did not go.
Some fab costume make ups - heaps of orchids - from the local Hornsby TAFE
Small orchid display - apparently first time judged - oncidium in colours I have never seen
Prize winner
Dendrobium with just one spike
Enough to win
District displays of fruit and veg were just fab. Photo if 4th place. 1st place was a a map of Australia with fruits to match the regions
Lunch stop under the steel art - koala - too bad there were not enough places to sit.
Did not get to see the farm animals. We had had enough. Flowers were good but not enough. Art was varied but not themed enough. Arts and crafts were good especially the stuff from under 20s
Food hall was good. What did we buy? Gin and chorizo
Happy to go home. Route via old Lidcombe station
