    • Disappointment is yes a natural part of our lifeline that can be so painful but yet very enlightening. It often helps teaches us a valuable lessons about trust, expectations, and resilience. I believe we all face disappointment in life in one way or the day, either as ones being let down by others or the ones unintentionally letting others down as well.
"So colleagues, I'll share now my two personal experiences that really helps to shaped my understanding of this emotion better on life."

When My Course Representative Let Me Down

Firstly here is this huge and unearthed disappointment from a person I never expect. A few weeks ago, I did experienced one of the very harshest disappointments from someone I trusted much, My Course Representative, Saviour Isonguyo. All this started when he asked me if I had completed my KYC (the Know Your Customer) verification on the RUBI app. I had joined this RUBI years ago when it was so trending, so I hadn't registered this through his referral link and I even guessed I might have registered before him.

After opening my account and he realized this, his whole entire attitude changed. He flatly refused now to help me with the KYC process just because I wasn’t under his referrals without caring to know how I get to know this app and when I did register, because he only knew I'm also mining the rubi coin and i have app.

    • Sincerely speaking, I thought it was a joke at first when he was saying it, but he was very serious then I realized. Even after reaching home, I still messaged him privately on WhatsApp, truly explaining my situation and as well practically begging for his help, but he sternly warned me never to text him again and refuse replying to messages anymore.

What really hurt the most was that I had always try to being there for him whenever he needed my assistance since our 100level in school till date —financially or otherwise. So I never expected such selfishness from him which he displays, and it so much taught me a valuable lesson about human relationships. I now know more better how to interact with such people like him and set boundaries in everything. While I won’t want to dwell on what I have done for him in the past, this very experience made me more and more cautious about who I trust and rely on in life.

When I also Unintentionally Disappointed a Customer

Sincerely While I have been disappointed, I too am not perfect either. I can vividly remember there was a time I let someone down too but not intentionally, it was due to circumstances beyond my control in school.

    • You know as a fashion designer and a student at the University of Uyo, proper balancing both of these responsibilities is quite challenging to me. So one particular week, I had promised a customer that his outfit would definitely be ready on time for him to wear to his occasion. However, that very week turned out to be more extremely hectic, with the back-to-back lectures and academic commitments in school. I simply couldn't make it to my shop to try complete his dress again.

    • In order not to made it looks so intentionally, I informed him ahead of time about the delay and the due challenges that leads to this, and thankfully, he truly understood. Still, I really felt terrible knowing too well that he had to use another outfit for his event. It genuinely wasn’t an intentional disappointment from me, but it as well reminded me how difficult it is to manage multiple responsibilities in life and truly require a tough discipline to succeed.

    Conclusion

Disappointment, whether it's experienced or caused, is a very tough pill to swallow in life. The key lesson I have truly learned is to manage expectations, both mine and of course those of others. While though some people may let us down unexpectedly in life, and we may also fail others unintentionally too, but what truly matters is how we do well to handle the situation and the lessons we take from it.
    This is my experience Hivers.
