Pocketful Of Sunshine

We live in a world where no matter who we think we are, there are times that there is always something trying to get underneath our skin, to steal our joy and take our happiness.

Sometimes, one minute you think you have all things going on smoothly then the next minute you might be hitting a rough patch.

When this happens we should never fail to remind ourselves of the pocket of sunshine we carry along with us, we should always remember that we have so much love inside of us that no matter what happens it will always radiate and shine out if we let it.

Last night I went to bed feeling sad, and I hated it, no matter how I tried to feel better it wasn't just happening.

Thanks to the network connection problem we are currently facing in Nigeria. It is hard to be cool when you have tasks lined up waiting for you to do them but the internet network you need to carry out such tasks keeps on frustrating you. So I decided to retire to bed earlier than usual and hope for a better morning.

But I woke up in the middle of the night, and my eyes were devoid of sleep, but this time, instead of feeling sad, I decided to do something better, finding my happy place. Even in the middle of the night 😅

We all have a happy place, somewhere we would like to run to when things get tough or not going as we planned.

A place we can find our balance, feel energized, and come alive once again.

Some people's happy place is taking a walk in the park with natural serenity and it's all beauty. Some could be singing and dancing or listening to music. While others might find peace in watching the sunset or feeling a drop of rain on their skin. For someone like me, my happy place is all of the above but there are times when I need an escape but can't leave the four walls of my house, that time I would choose music and it always comes to my rescue.

We might not have power over certain things that happen to us like the current network downtime in Nigeria and across some West African countries according to the news. Which is messing with me and my online activities.

But we certainly have power about how to react or feel about them.

When I woke up in the middle of last night, I thought about one of my favorite hive community #q-inspired, a place I have come to love and enjoy in this recent time. The friends here seem to share a lot in common with me when it comes to music tastes, so when I hang out here, I know I can always find something very cool to enjoy.

It turned out I did find something amazing. The first post I read by Kemmyb blew away my heart. Her choice of songs and her accompanying texts were just perfect timing for me.

Through her, I came to discover a singer, and her songs are just my kind. Dear Kemmyb just in case you see this, thank you!🥰🤗 you are amazing.

The song is Pocketful of Sunshine. By, Natasha Bedingfield among her other songs, is a song that is 14 years old but still very relevant in today's world.

I took my time to enjoy it and I became very refreshed and energized after. That is one thing about songs that resonate with our current situation. It could provide one with a new perspective on such situations and this song did just that for me.

She talks about finding our happy place, and talks about self-love and the significant power it has towards our happiness.

    With my favorite line;

"The sun is on my side, I smile to the sky, I know I will be alright".

To me, that is a powerful message and I think it is very important that we know that we will always be alright in the end.

I hope you are alright today and always.

    Thank you for visiting🙏🥰
