Why was Jesus a carpenter?
Carpentry job was passed by Joseph to Jesus Christ because Joseph fostered Jesus.
Jesus was like an ordinary man during His first 30years, this made the Jews not to belief in him.
Mark 6:3
[3]Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
The Jews judged Jesus Christ based on his family background.
