The restoration of historical objects found in excavations or in other ways is truly an art.

Walking through different corridors admiring this great work of restorers is incredible. Often the pieces are in very bad condition and certain parts are missing.

The work behind all this is admirable, when there are only pieces of objects that history has left forgotten. Someone rescues them and tries to reconstruct it.

In many of these objects the passage of time is inevitable, especially when they have been buried or subjected to the inclemency of the weather.

Time does the same with people, time passes and erases certain things and reinforces others. Time is something inexplicable, relative and fascinating at the same time.

I looked at each of these paintings, sculptures, mosaics and everything seemed to me a great journey into the past, that many try to bring back to life to tell certain facts.

Many items are in this room to be restored and others are in the process of restoration. Others, unfortunately, will remain as they are, with the marks of time.

Time leaves marks, some superficial and some deeper, not only on objects but also on the hearts of people. These marks may or may not be beneficial, those that are beneficial give us maturity and wisdom.

For some of these historic objects the colour has been preserved intact, I suppose it depends on the quality materials that have been used on them. In others the colour and style has been lost or worn away.

Rust, knocks and other circumstances cause deterioration if the material is not good and on other items, such deterioration is not so noticeable. The material is important with respect to time.

What we are made of, and according to our roots, beliefs and programming, so will be the strength of our material. Forging what we want to be is fundamental and putting good material in our life so that the colours do not deteriorate.

Life and art are always, for me, related. Often or all, art reflects what we live, but it can reflect even more, for example, how we paint our life.

With a paint that lasts over time or with a paint that is diluted by water.
Let us be a rock where good quality carving lasts over time and can be an example for others.

All these objects are on display in the Museo de la Aduana in Malaga, in the area of the visitable warehouse. It is impressive to see them in the state in which they have been found and some with restorations. History speaks to us through them.

Thank you all for watching and reading this far. I wish you all an excellent Sunday. See you next time.
    Amonet.
