Grandma Mary was regarded as a wise woman. She lived in the outskirts of the village with her granddaughter, Debbie. She had lost her only child, Debbie's Mom, to childbirth and had taken care of her granddaughter since she was a few hours old.
So everyone knew how overprotective she was, of Debbie.
One day grandma Mary gave Debbie some beetle oil that came in a small bottle and told her to always carry it with her while walking through the forest to the market.

“If anyone troubles you, spray this straight into their eyes,” she said seriously, "but be careful it doesn't touch you". Debbie was not very sure of it but decided to keep it anyway.

While returning home from the market one day, an armed man appeared from the thicket ordering her to hand over her basket and all the money in her bag to him. Debbie was in panic and pretending to bring out the cash in her bag, took the beetle oil bottle, and swiftly sprayed it at the man’s face, as she had been told. At that instant, the man shrieked as he turned his head away, and his hands went to his heated eyes caused by the beetle oil.

Then Debbie quickly gathered her basket and ran as fast as her legs could carry her, while the robber cursed as the pain in his eyes became more intense.
