Both the rich and the poor are crying: not the country we wished for

The economic situation of the country presently is not friendly at all. It is true that we all wished for a better Nigerian, though our hopes are still very high, but presently now we are praying for the cost of goods and services to come down so that the common man can at least see food to eat.

At first we were complaining that the recent increase in dollar was the problem of inflation in the country as at then a bag of sugar cost ₦75,000 but currently dollar has dropped and everyday prices of goods are skyrocketing and a bag of sugar now cost ₦85,000 which of course dollar is not the problem of the economic crises though it contributed.

The cost of living now in Nigeria is expensive and is greatly affecting people imagine two years ago I can boldly go to the market and buy four pair of thrift trousers for ₦500 each costing only 2k but recently I went to the market and bought Just a pair for ₦2,500 that's to tell you that a common man earning less than 100k who was once considered as a rich man is now a man struggling to survive. If things are that expensive here in the north, I can only imagine those living in the west, east and south like Lagos, port Harcourt, Benin and Imo. those guys over there must be feeling it hot 🔥 cause of the high rate of renting a house at least here in the north you can get a good and comfortable apartment for 300k meanwhile in a place like Lagos you can only afford a one room apartment or at least a pako house I.e a house made of wood.

Talking of transportation is another case of it's own. One would be thinking of what to eat and at same time transportation fare. A civil servant being paid 50k monthly, from it he would take feeding money, transport and other miscellaneous as well. If he uses his transport money for food he won't be able to go to work, and if he don't go to work no salary. if he uses his feeding money as transport Fare, there would be no food to eat when he gets to work which will cause him default in working and can lead to a sack letter. Hmmm!! The cost of living is now expensive both rich and poor are crying.

As for price of goods and services is something that has made the country people speechless. Three weeks ago,we were to prepare snacks for thanksgiving in church, so my mom went to buy flour and sugar from the market and when she get home, from our calculation considering the number of guest invited, what she bought won't be enough so i had to go back again to the market that same day and by the time i went, the price of sugar has increased. I was forced to ask the man how comes with the addiction of money because from the look of things, he still has old stock which is not even half finished but instead of giving me an answer he just kept quite. That's why me am always praying for dollar to increase. 🤣🤣

Compared to other countries, Nigerian is not doing her best considering the availability of mineral resources and fertilie land for agriculture, which with all this Nigerians are supposed to be smiling not crying. If I have the opportunity to relocate, I won't think twice. Who don't want a good life? But no matter what home will always be home.

Thank you for your time, Peace 🕊️
