Reflection Hunters Contest ~ Round 161 Catching Reflection While Fishing

in voilk •  4 months ago

Hello friends and Hivers. Hope all is well and everyone enjoyed their weekend. The last few days I went fishing (Thursday thru Saturday) Not only was I after fish I was after some reflections. Today I show numerous reflections while doing something I very much like doing, fishing.

The timing of this competition is spot on for the photos I took recently. I didn't quite have the time to make a post last round. If you want to join in on the fun please take a moment and check out @olgavita's post about it here.

Alright not a reflection above but it shows the only fish I kept which was on Thursday. Have to show them or else it's just another fish tale, haha. Just three rainbow trout which I kept for a future meal 😋 Friday was a rough day as I caught none. Saturday wasn't much better but at least I caught two smaller fish which were thrown back.

    My entry photo

So this photograph was taken on Friday. Like I mentioned above I caught no fish on this day but it was the day I caught the most reflections 😊 This train was on its track for a long time. It had quite a lot of cars attached to it which caused it to move forward and backwards several times. It's my favorite reflection simply because of the subject matter, a freight train. Only thing I would have considered above it would have been a fish reflection which unfortunately I had no luck capturing.

In this reflection you can see two engines and two of its cars. Also included are the reflections of some bluffs (small hills), trees, and some power lines in the distance.

It produced so many different noises which I didn't mind because they all echoed throughout this park. Just before entering the outskirts of the park the diesel engines were firing close to full power. This created a rather large rising cloud of smoke. There is a bend of the tracks before entering the park which put strain on the engines. Not sure how many cars it was pulling but it was close to a mile long. There was a railroad crossing right before the end of the park and the train would let off a warning whistle prior to crossing the intersection. In my opinion the best sounds were when the train went in reverse.

The train engines have a good sized bell on it which sounds off when it goes in reverse. A pretty cool sound and trains from the very past also had these installed. The most unique sound is the cars bumping up on each off their connections. This was a loud repeating boom that was a chain reaction all the way down the tracks. You could hear this for about 10-20 seconds as the sound fainted the farther it went down the tracks. Alright you probably guessed I have an obsession with trains, let's move on!

Here are some water reflections showing the pretty sides of nature. Seeing nature and it's growing features such as trees is a sight to see. Now seeing them reflected in the water makes them even more special. Do you agree?

Not only things from a distance show reflections. Here are some stones reflections which border this small pound. Pretty cool seeing this border refection which could be seen in most places throughout. The last photo we have some more reflections but a little faint but we see the choo choo in the distance 🚂.

These reflections were of some individuals fishing. The guys reflection along with posted sign reflected well in the water. I really liked the mother and daughter fishing together. Fishing is just not a man activity. Also in that reflection in the water is the gear I brought, a cooler and a bag lures and such. The last photo is of me fishing in the same spot a few minutes before. The rock border is still reflecting in the water. I like how this photo has both reflections and shadows 😊

In the first photo we have a reflection of a fishing dock that has seen better days. It was pretty cool seeing it's reflection on both sides. Also my pole, a tree, and a parked vehicle is reflected in the water. The last photo is a different place where my pole and a tree across from the water is reflected.

Well there is my last few days hunting for reflections. I hope you enjoyed because I sure did. Hey it wasn't the best fishing but reflections, nature and the surroundings made it a worthy time out.

Take care, stay safe and have a great week ahead. Until next time!
