Death's Food

Abel was sitting on his bed and was biting and chewing the cucumber in his hand, but he was unable to swallow it. It was as if something blocked his throat. He put his hand on his big belly and thought to himself, what will happen to him and his child? Was it possible for the archbishop to show mercy for this child, his child and his?

He was in these thoughts that someone knocked on the door and entered without Abel allowing to enter. He was the archbishop's first husband who had a mocking smile on his face.
"Poor Abel. I said to come and see how you are."

And sat on the edge of the bed. Abel said coldly:
"I was fine until I saw you."

"Oh, you'd better be nice to me. Chances are you'll be executed after you give birth to your baby, and I'll be the only one who can take care of him."

"Get out of here. I want to be alone."

Asa said in an indifferent tone:
    "Okay, I'll go."

And he got up and while stroking his big belly, he said:
"Let's go my little one. Abel wants to be alone to say his last words to God."

Asa left the room and Abel laid down on the bed and buried his head in the pillow and sobbed so much that he fell asleep.

Their teacher in the temple was analyzing for them parts of the Bible regarding the punishment of sinners. In the middle of his words, he suddenly became silent and pointed his finger at Abel and said in a scary voice:
"You will only be accepted in hell."

Abek felt a sharp pain in his stomach and woke up. He writhed and shouted:
"Help!... Is anyone there? Help me."

Moments passed and the pain was like a mooving angry dragon in Abel's stomach. Red hot blood flowed from his lower body and stained the white sheets. Abel gathered all his strength and shouted:
    "Help!"

At this time, his servant Isaac came in and when he saw him in that condition, the color jumped from his face and he immediately went after the doctor.

Asa, who was in his room and heard Abel's cries, sent his servant Amos to see what happened. When he realized what was going on, he laughed happily.
"I think he'll abort his baby. If that happens, it'll be great. I'll be relieved of both his baby and himself."

Isaac immediately drove himself to doctor Caleb's office and brought him home with him. Caleb went to Abel's bedside and examined him.

Abel said as he shed tears.
"Please tell me my baby is okay."

    The doctor smiled.
    "Yes, luckily he's fine."

    Abel said happily.
    "God, thank you!"

The archbishop, who heard that Abel was in bad health, made his way home from the temple and went to his room. Seeing him, Abel tried to get up.
    "My Lord!"

But the bishop pointed to him to lie down. Then he took a chair and sat next to the bed. There was a frown on his forehead and his face looked sorry.
"Abel, I have to tell you that I made a big mistake. Asa told me things about you and I believed his words and because of that I almost lost you and my baby."

    Abel's eyes widened.
"Did Asa tell you I went to the witches?"

"Yes, he said so. I will punish him severely for this."

    Abel immediately said:
"No, my lord, please don't. He's jealous of me, because he thinks I took your love from him. My lord, I feel so bad because I made Asa sin."

    The bishop said angrily:
"What are these words? It's not your fault, he should be ashamed of himself. I've always paid attention to him and never made a difference between him and you."

Abel took the bishop's hands in his own.
"Can I ask you not to punish him?"

    The bishop's expression softened.
"Because you ask me to, so be it."

At this moment, Amos, who had heard everything from behind the door, immediately ran to Asa's room and informed him of the words that had been spoken between the bishop and Abel.

Tears filled Asa's eyes and anger filled his being.
"Damn Abel! He said these words to endear himself to our master."

And he went to his closet and took out a small bottle and put it in Amos' hand.
    "Pour this in Abel's food."

The color drained from Amos' face and his eyes widened.
"My lord, this is too dangerous. You and your child will be killed."

"If Abel and his child are to remain here, destruction will be better for me and my child than life."

And this was how Asa made himself, Abel and their unborn children death's food.
