    Hello my fellow Architecture+Design lovers,

How are you Hivers? I really believe that you are doing well in this weekend. After a week today, which is Saturday, I took a tour of another beautiful and peaceful street to explore the buildings full of outstanding architectural features. In fact, exploring architecture is like a wonderful hobby. Through that, the unique construction concepts can be clearly seen in the environment, outside and inside the buildings. Dikson road in Galle city is divided into two parts, upper and lower, and I first traveled on the lower Dikman road, so I hope to present the beautiful places I found there in this content.

Down Dicksan Road, the first thing that caught my eye was a beautiful tourist lodge built under modern and ancient Egyptian architectural construction concepts. The front is finished in an Egyptian shape. Although it is similar to the Kataluwa Kabalana Hotel, which I showed in a previous content, this lodge did not see the mummies from the Egyptian pyramids. However, because the walls are painted in a matching color, it adds more brightness.

The outside of this building was different. That is, the wooden or iron entrance gates seen in other lodges were not seen. Instead, several gates shaped like windows and entrance doors to rooms were seen. Vehicles cannot enter this lodge as there was a separate place for parking facilities.

Lower Dikman Road is a bit busy street but it is full of trees which makes it cool. The value of a small space on this street is very high. But today there is not even a perch that can be bought on this street. Although there are mostly modern constructions, there are also old buildings. An identity has been built through the application of colors specific to each building.

Many constructions following the pro-green concept are widely seen in Sri Lanka. In front of the mandir-style buildings, large gardens are spread with ornamental plants and flowers to provide more shade and beauty. The shapes of the walls built around buildings and gardens are also attractive.

A villa-style lodge covered with a stone wall and plants including ornamental bougainvillea next caught my attention. Because of these types of trees, the entire building here seems to be built in a small forest, and even the front view cannot be seen clearly. This creation using modern equipment is truly inspiring. An anchor logo is displayed on the front because of its proximity to the sea.

As I mentioned earlier, I could see an old house on Dickman Road below. In fact, old buildings that have not been repaired bring a high historical value to the area. There are also more architectural elements to explore in the presence of discolored walls, window frames that are clearly old. This old house was roofed with tiles that were good for human health. A wall made of a mixture of cement and sand overlaid with black rock provides greater protection without the soil being washed away.

During the last period when there was a power crisis, many house owners and lodge owners decided to install solar panels as an alternative. Also, as an alternative to the strong sunlight, the asbestos sheets that had been used to cover the roof have been removed and a cool tile roof has been installed. It is an important need to be fulfilled in time.

Lower Dikman Street appears to be an environmentally friendly green zone as trees and plants are everywhere. The wall is covered with a beautiful decorative vine. Such beautiful views in terms of architectural features add to the beauty of the environment.

Several houses and buildings of various architectural styles were to be seen on this lower dikman road. In fact, seeing these makes us want to do more of our exploratory trips because of their unique feautures. Some of the houses with roofs using modern tiles have very attarctively designed veranda sections. In front of it, pots with ornamental plants are presented, showing their beauty.

Some old houses are now in high demand as tourists prefer to stay in them. This is how I saw an old house in lower dikman road. Some parts of it have been modernized and the attractiveness has been enhanced by a well maintained garden with ornamental plants.

During my visit, I saw a tourist lodge like this, which has completed using modern granite tile with other materials. You can also see that there is really a special attraction here. The name of this tourist lodge is displayed in front of the white painted wall. After the entrance gate you can see a beautiful garden like environment with several pots of ornamental plants. Apart from this, the exterior of the hotel is impressive, made with the most attractive finishes.

The walls built outside of the buidings can be mentioned as an elemant that brings a special beauty to the architectural elements. By using various shapes and designs for these walls, their appeal has been increased.

As we approach lower dikson road, we see several shopping complex. These have various shops where people can buy all things they need. Based on the attractiveness of these customers cn expect to come there with a specialty.
