Nach Silvester düsten wir mit dem Zug zurück nach Frankreich, wo wir unseren Bus auf dem Campingplatz bei Marseille genau so vorfanden, wie wir ihn zurückgelassen hatten.
Von Marseille aus ging es weiter nach Italien. Dort fuhren wir südwärts entlang der Westküste. Da es im Februar relativ kalt war, planten wir unsere Route in der Toskana hauptsächlich entlang der heißen Quellen, von denen es hier einige gibt. Auch der hohe Schwefelgehalt in einigen ist dabei für Kleinkinder kein Problem. Wir machten uns vorher einige Gedanken deshalb, aber Locals saßen mit einem deutlich kleineren Baby im 37 Grad warmen Wasser. Die Therme Bagni di Petriolo gefiel uns mit seinen naturbelassenen Becken mit unterschiedlicher Temperatur und dem kalten Fluss direkt daneben besonders gut.

Über Rom, Pompeji und Vesuv fuhren wir bis ganz in den Süden, um dann nach Sizilien überzusetzen und die Insel einmal zu umrunden. Hier fühlten wir uns vielerorts richtig wohl, fanden schöne Stellplätze und trafen wieder deutlich mehr Leute. Darunter einige mit Kindern, was besonders für Theo sehr spannend war. Besonders schön: es wurde langsam wärmer und wir verbrachten meist den ganzen Tag draußen. Zurück auf dem Festland fuhren wir relativ zügig nach Osten, unserem nächsten Ziel, Albanien, entgegen. Mit der Fähre ging es über Nacht von Brindisi (am Stiefelabsatz) nach Vlora (Albanien). Hier trafen wir erneut auf meine Eltern und meinen Bruder. Nachdem wir den Süden des Landes im Zickzack durchquert haben, sind wir nun im Norden Griechenlands und sehr gespannt auf den Frühling / Frühsommer hier im Südosten Europas. Unsere weitere Reiseroute steht noch nicht fest, deshalb sind wir offen für Tipps und Anregungen! In den nächsten Tagen sind wir erstmal auf Korfu unterwegs und danach steht Lefkada auf dem Plan.

After New Year's Eve we took the train back to France, where we found our bus at the campsite near Marseille exactly as we had left it.
From Marseille we continued on to Italy. Now we drove south along the west coast. Since it was quite cold in February, we planned our route in Tuscany mainly along the hot springs, there are several here. Even with a high sulphur content, it was no problem with a small child. We didn't know before, but locals sat in the thermal water with a much smaller baby. We particularly liked the Bagni di Petriolo thermal baths with their natural pools of different temperatures and the cold river just a few meters away.
We drove all the way south via Rome, Pompeii and Vesuvius, then crossed over to Sicily and circled the island once. Here we felt really comfortable in many places, found nice places to spend the nights and met again more people. Some of them with children, which was very exciting for Theo. It was slowly getting warmer, what was nice. We spent the most days outside. Back on the mainland, we drove relatively quickly eastwards, our next destination was Albania. We took the ferry overnight from Brindisi (on the heel of the boot) to Vlora in Albania.
Here we met my parents and brother again. After zigzagging through the south of the country, we are now in the north of Greece and are very excited about spring/early summer here in the south east of Europe. Our further travel route has not yet been decided, so we are open for tips and suggestions! In the next few days we will be travelling to Corfu and afterwards to Lefkada.
