I don't have a huge circle of friends or many circle for that matter. In fact, as I grew older I've been cutting a lot of ties with people who aren't supporting me in ways I needed. I don't mind losing friends if those individuals don't help me progress in some ways.
If there's one circle that I try to be connected to as often as I could, it's my Bogo Family. I've shared some of our travel in and out of Cebu in the past here.
It was a call from Jelo that unites all. One afternoon while I was on my way back to Cebu from Iloilo, he told me one of our friends, Maerose, who works in Tacloban, will be in Cebu for that weekend. I could've easily thought of having a sumptuous lunch or dinner or even a quick coffee session to spend a few hours with them before Maerose leaves for Tacloban. I found myself smiling almost triumphantly, at what Jelo told me. He said Maerose will join us in our Sunday worship at The Feast Ayala Center Cebu. Jelo and I (and my boyfriend) attends Sunday worship but for Maerose, it was her first.
To have friends who don't just listen to all your nagging about work, relationships and whatnot but who also prays for you and prays with you is something I could only dreamed of before. But here they are now. At times, when life gets tougher I only have to send a prayer request and they'd be delighted to include my petitions in their prayer time. I am deeply humbled each time we share about our relationship with the Lord. Not perfect but ever present! ❤️
The Sunday service ended right on time for lunch, other friends joined us a late lunch at Brique Restaurant in Ayala Terraces.
I wish for us to grow in faith together as the years pass by! 🙏❤️
