Por el 2017, recuerdo que comenzó esta aventura tejeril. Hoy recuerdo esa emoción de ver amigurumi tras amigurumi, leer blog, ver videos de cómo tejer muñecos a crochet en todo el mundo, sin importar los idiomas, jaja.
Una de esas diseñadoras fue Carment Rent. Quien tiene un estilo bien marcado, se caracteriza por diseñar muñecas propias y de personajes conocidos (series, peliculas, anime, etc.). En esos años habían muy pocos muñecos de hombres (niños, adolescentes, adultos o ancianos)... creo que lideraba Papa Noel (jaja). Esa fue una de las razones por las que me propuse diseñar muñecos de hombres (incluye animales machos).
Around 2017, I remember when this crocheting adventure started. Today I remember that excitement of seeing amigurumi after amigurumi, reading blog, watching videos of how to crochet dolls all over the world, no matter the languages.
One of these designers was Carment Rent. She had a very distinct style, characterised by designing her own dolls and dolls of well-known characters (series, films, anime, etc.). In those years there were very few dolls of men (children, teenagers, adults or old people)... I think Santa Claus was the leader (jaja). That was one of the reasons why I set out to design male dolls (including male animals)

Oscar, es de esos muñecos que tuve curiosidad de tejerlo, tanto para ver su tamaño final y ver el estilo de Carmen. Para esto elegí colores azulados, entre azul bebé, celestes y verde tipo turqueza. También, estoy tejiendo con otro número de crochet para que quede más firme.
Oscar, is one of those dolls that I was curious to crochet, both to see its final size and to see Carmen's style. For this I chose bluish colors, between baby blue, light blue and turquoise green. Also, I'm crocheting with another number of crochet to make it firmer.
Según el patrón, el cabello de Oscar era de AM, aumentos y vueltas constantes. Aquí lo modifiqué y agregué unos mechones bien largos, jaja. Generalmente también cambio el tamaño de los ojos porque este depende del grosor del hilo, grosor del crochet y tensión del tejedor.
According to the pattern, Oscar's hair was in MR, with constant increases and constant rounds and turns. Here I modified it and added some very long locks, jaja. Usually I also change the size of the eyes because it depends on the thickness of the yarn, the thickness and tension of the crochet hook.
Lo curioso de este patrón (para mí) fue que las extremidades son delgaditas. Es mas, si no fuese por el Jumper sus piernitas se las llevaría el viento (exageré un poquito, jaja). Siendo aquí su ropa una de las claves para este muñeco.
The funny thing about this pattern (for me) was that the limbs are very thin. What's more, if it wasn't for the Jumper, her little legs would be blown away by the wind (I exaggerated a little bit, jaja). Her clothes are one of the keys to this doll.
Oscar lleva botones y justo tengo unos similares. Estos meses también estoy practicando dibujo y estoy incorporando esos conocimientos a mi estilo de diseño/dibujo. Aquí lo apliqué en el bordado del rostro.
Oscar wears buttons and I have similar ones. These months I'm also practising drawing and I'm incorporating that knowledge into my design/drawing style. Here I applied it to the embroidery of the face.
Oscar fue tejido con un crochet de 1.75 mm con un hilo 100% algodón Tangüis de 4 hebras. Mide 19 cm. Me encantó el resultado. Si bien su Jumper es extraíble, lo recomiendo sacarlo solo para lavarlo.
Oscar was made with a 1.75 mm crochet with a 4-strand 100% Tangüis cotton yarn. It measures 7.48 in. I loved the result. Although his jumper is removable, I recommend taking it out only to wash it.

Dato curioso: Las botas si fueron modificados agregándole una vuelta de aumentos y así sí le quedó. | The boots were modified by adding a round of increases and so they did fit.
