How Card Luck Swings the Battle in Gods Unchained

Matchmaking doesn't allow you to play against the same opponent back to back anymore, which is great. But it is still possible to face the same opponent twice in the same day. This means I guess not that many people play at the same time and we need to draw more people into the game...

A few days ago I played against the same opponent twice in the same day, both using the same decks. First time I had a pretty good draw, but opponent had all the answers they needed and I lost. The second match my hand was much weaker, but apparently the opponent's was worse and I won.

I thought this was interesting because the matches were very different despite both using the same deck. The performance of the decks was also very different. I thought this was a good example to demonstrate how much luck during card draw can influence the match result. This particular match-up was probably more favourable for my opponent. But everything else being equal - assuming no major mistakes - it can be eye-opening how much luck and inconsistency determines the outcome, no matter how well thought out the deck is or how much skill you apply to your plays.

What do you think, this much luck is normal and to be expected, or would you prefer more control over what you can play each turn?
