Abstractos Cubanos: Denominador Común fue la exposición que se presentó en la Galería 23 y 12. Esta es la céntrica Galería Habanera que les mencioné en un post anterior debido a la exposición de Michel Moro. Esta vez 23 artistas del movimiento de abstracción en Cuba exhibieron sus obras durante los meses de Julio y Agosto del pasado año.
El día 12 de julio se hizo la curadoria y el montaje de la exposición . El Colega Abenamar Bauta se encargó de hacerlo, pues fue él quien concibió la idea de la exposición. Bauta es el impulsor y coordinador del movimiento de abstracción Cubana, que ya aglutina mas de 50 artistas de todo el país, que se expresan a través de la visualidad abtraccionista. Recuerdo que ese día él tenía un fuerte dolor de cabeza y yo pude apoyarlo en el proceso de organización de la exhibición.
Tres días después , el 15 de Julio, quedó oficialmente inaugurada la exposición para el disfrute de los amantes del arte.
La velada se convirtió en una excelente oportunidad para reencontrarnos los artistas. Saludar a los conocidos y conocer a otros con los que nunca habíamos compartido, pues el movimiento de abstractos es muy amplio en diversidad de generaciones y procedencia geográfica.
La Galería estuvo bastante concurrida. Artistas, familiares, amigos y amantes del arte colmaron el espacio con sus presencias y la buena energía fluía entre todos.
Las pinturas eran de gran calidad y variedad de estilos dentro de la corriente abstracta. La pluralidad de técnicas, formatos y composiciones eran un acierto para la visión inclusiva de nuestro movimiento.
Los asistentes demostraron que existe en Cuba un apetito por el arte abstracto. Y para nosotros los artistas fue una ocasión perfecta para mostrar lo mejor de nuestro trabajo, y la buena salud de la abstracción cubana.
En el centro de esta foto pueden ver mi pintura titulada: Mapas de Ciudad. Inspirada en la vista aérea que yo podia apreciar cuando volaba en avión de la Isla de la Juventud a la Habana.

Esta Galería tiene unos espacios magníficos para exponer arte contemporaneo. Cuban Abstracts: Common Denominator was the exhibition presented at Galería 23 y 12. Bauta is the promoter and coordinator of the Cuban abstraction movement, which already brings together more than 50 artists from all over the country, who express themselves through abstractionist visuality. I remember that day he had a severe headache and I was able to support him in the process of organizing the exhibition.
Three days later, on July 15, the exhibition was officially inaugurated for the enjoyment of art lovers.
The evening became an excellent opportunity for us artists to meet again. To greet acquaintances and meet others with whom we had never shared, since the abstract movement is very broad in diversity of generations and geographical origin.
The Gallery was quite crowded. Artists, family, friends and art lovers filled the space with their presence and the good energy flowed among everyone.
The paintings were of great quality and variety of styles within the abstract current. The plurality of techniques, formats and compositions were a success for the inclusive vision of our movement.
The attendees demonstrated that there is an appetite for abstract art in Cuba. And for us artists it was a perfect occasion to show the best of our work, and the good health of Cuban abstraction.

This gallery has magnificent spaces to exhibit contemporary art.
