Happy new year, Hive! May this year be full
of joy and success. I hope you can spend a little time reading my first blog of the year.
Welcoming a new year is something most of the people got so excited about. There are family gatherings and parties for others. Making special moments memorable since it only happens once a year.
I had a little excitement for this year as I bid farewell to 2024, which gave us a roller coaster ride. It was a mixed emotion: excitement and anxiety, but most of it was the latter. Well, it was somewhat relieved upon receiving lots of support and encouragement from people who are always behind our back. So, I welcome and embrace this new year with hope and love.
On the last day of 2024, our kids keep on asking me to cook the pasta inside our fridge. We already have the ingredients for the spaghetti, and they wanted me to cook it for their snacks and for New Year's Eve. I told my wife to prepare the ingredients, and when she was done, I started the cooking process.
We also purchased a chiffon cake, leche flan, and maja blanca. My wife's nieces gave us a macaroni salad, and my co-teacher sent us a biko and a salad. We did not plan to prepare much food because we're only four at home and the kids are not allowed to take so many sweets.
I was glad that the speakers I ordered got delivered yesterday. I tried it by singing some of my favorite songs. I played TikTok and trending music after my sound check. I really love music; it gives me peace of mind and relaxation.
At 7:00 o'clock in the evening, we attended the new year's eve mass at our parish, and we felt the joy that as we ended the year, we received miracles. There are things that we least expect to happen since it seemed impossible. But prayer is very powerful. He hears us and He knows our sufferings. And there is really no impossible in Him.
We went back home after the mass and shared the foods we have. The kids enjoyed all the foods. They tasted everything, and you can see in their eyes the joy that I always want to feel. An hour passed by, and I asked them to go to bed since they felt sleepy. Our kids are not used to sleeping late at night. Mostly we go to bed at 7 or 8 in the evening. I told them I'd just wake them up once it's almost midnight.
The kids went to bed, and my wife and I stayed in the living room listening to religious music. When it was 11:00 o'clock, we started our prayer as our countdown to the new year 2025. I also prepared the charcoal fire for my incense burning. When it was midnight, I played the salve Regina, and my wife put the incense on the charcoal fire.
We always welcome our new year like this. We don't use any fire crackers or any loud noise. We welcome it with hope and love of the Almighty Father. Asking His divine providence for the entire year.
Today, we must begin the year with good vibes. With our welcoming of 2025, we also have the HPUD here in Hive. And I will participate in it today to continue my growth goal as encouraged by some of the great personalities of this platform. Let us all grow together and be a help to others too. Happy Hive power-up day, everyone!
Thank you for being part of my 2024. I hope you'll still be a part of my 2025.
