It's good to have dinner together

Family is the most important for everyone, and it's because of the good bonding between family members. From one perspective, the bond is strong because of blood relations. But it is not fully true, as we can see worse relations between family members also.

I think behind the strong bond between family members is their continuous interaction and better understanding. In the past, interaction between family members was very frequent, but now we are so busy with technological devices that the interaction between family members has decreased a lot, even if we stay in a house the whole day. That's the reason it says that technological devices helped us to reduce the distance between places but created distance between close people who stayed with us. It's not fully right, but I can't deny that indirectly, it's also reasonable for creating distance between family members, although we are to blame for it.

I have seen many families where there is almost no interaction between family members. Each family member wakes up at different times and takes their breakfast at different times, and it's similar in the case of dinner and lunchtime. It's not a problem to do things separately, but because of separate action, the interaction between the family members has been reduced a lot. From one perspective, it does not do any harm, but from another perspective, it's not a good thing because fewer interactions mean less communication, and then they get little opportunity to know about other family members and their activities. That means they get few chances only to exchange their thoughts.

Fortunately, in my family, the situation is different. Since childhood, we do our breakfast, lunch, and dinner together if everyone is available at home at that time. When we went to school, the situation was different because, at that time, doing lunch together was impossible. But breakfast and dinner time: taking food together with family members was compulsory since childhood, and it's still the same. In the current time, when we do our breakfast time, we talk about various kinds of topics, and sometimes we start to gossip, which takes more than an hour also. Although the moment is not productive, it's helpful to share our ideas and thoughts with other family members. At dinner time, we share about our daily activities. I think dining time is the most important for the direction between parents and children because I noticed that when children start to grow up, somehow a distance is created automatically between parents and children. So, after a certain time, children feel hesitant to share their thoughts. Dining together can be the best place for exchanging thoughts. I think it's necessary, and it's very helpful not to create distance between parents and children.

In the case of siblings, I think there is no necessity of dining together because there is no resistance or hesitant feeling when it comes to sharing thoughts between siblings. But still, I prefer dining together, and that makes the dining moment more lively and enjoyable. For me, I don't have any problem sharing my thoughts with parents, as I am very frank with my parents, but in the case of my siblings, they are not so frank like me in sharing their thoughts with parents. Even if I am very frank, I love to cherish the moment of dining together, and I always want to dine with all my family members at the same time.
