Youkai Apaato no Yuuga na Nichijou (manga ) --- it's an enjoyable read so far!

I've recently caught up with Kingdom and One Piece latest chapters, so I decided to search for some stuff to read. I then stumbled upon this manga which I think would be to my liking. It's still ongoing and I'm yet to catch up to it, but I feel like sharing my thoughts about it so far.

The manga is called "Youkai Apaato no Yuuga na Nichijou" or Elegant Yokai Apartment Life in English.

I have always been fascinated with Japanese youkai especially after watching and reading anime or manga related to them like Ge ge ge no Kitaro, Natsume no Yuujinchou and so on. Youkai is the general term used referring to Japanese spirits, demons, ghosts, etc. And for someone like me who is into horror and psychological thrillers, I'm amused with the thought of youkai's existence.

Anyway, let me tell you about the manga I'm reading...

Photos are screenshots from the manga... :)

The story revolves around the main character, Inaba Yuushi. He became an orphan when he was in middle school and started living with his relatives. That life was quite stressful because he had to tiptoe in his every move. Wanting to escape such life, he decided to become independent after graduation. He got into a business high school with a dormitory and was raring to leave.

Unfortunately for him, the dormitory of the said school caught fire, so it's either he commute to school from his relative's house or find a cheap apartment near the school. Obviously, he chose the latter.

Given his minuscule budget, it was a struggle for him to find an apartment. On the verge of giving up, he sat down on a bench when a strange entity came up to him and guided him to a realtor who then introduced him to this apartment.

The offer was too good to be true. It was cheap and he need not pay a down payment... but of course, there's a catch! And yes, reading the title, you'd guess what it is...

His initial reactions were so funny and entertaining to watch! I continued reading until late last night, so I almost miss my morning class earlier. hahah Hello to my zombie mode again!

Anyway, his supposed-to-be free, independent and ordinary life took a turn. So, let's continue reading the story to know more about his life in this youkai-filled apartment. I personally want to live with them. It seems so fun! haha

I also find the story quite inspiring because it gives us a perspective of the current world we're living in. It tackles issues related to human relationships, happiness, struggles and so on. Although some were presented through youkai, it's still very relatable and would make you think about it as well.

I really like feel-good manga but with depth. It makes me think and enjoy at the same time. So, if you're into such genre, why not give this one a shot?

Also, I just discovered that this manga was actually animated back in 2017. You can check their official website HERE. Once I caught up with the manga, I'd start watching the anime as well.

Thanks for checking this post and see you around! Let's all enjoy this month's quest, too! Have a great one! :)
