We finally arrive in Elfin cove and are greeted with Alaska’s stunning landscape, with a little bit of human touch. Elfin cove is a small fishing port with only a few residents, fishing is also the main income, Elfin cove attracts many tourists but mostly are fishermen who fish for salmon, halibut, and other species. Elfin cove is very isolated and can only be accessed by sea plane or by boat. Elfin cove mainly consists of lodges which look like abandoned houses as they are not used. This town is on a small island, a hidden gem gently held by the sea all around it..
It is pretty crazy to see that this town or village is so empty, we were here two weeks ago and it was full of fishing boats and people.
Why?
Well it is because the fishing season has ended and all the non-resident fishermen leave until the next season starts over again.
This is a pretty interesting town because basically all the houses are built on the waters edge as you can see on the image above.
We will be staying here in Elfin cove for the next few days hanging out with the few people left.
