Half the month with little weather then yesterday it decided to dump. Okay, it waited until afternoon to really let loose but the morning round was a few bouts of snow fits that didn't add to the depth any.
Between 9 and 10:30 we had the flakes falling in waves but soon as the real system began to move in the temps warmed and anything falling from the sky became just water.
Got the softener filled which I need to be better about filling. Our water is SUPER high in iron so we HAVE to have the iron filter and water softener to yank as much of the shit out as we can.
PDC had a few great matches over the day but this was probably my favorite. Sweeting is the first player from Bahamas. He did really well for his first major appearance.
I watched as the front crept towards us across the basin with the wall of the front edge really well defined.
UPS had my S19 out for delivery so I had to make sure the greenhouse was ready for it. I rummaged around the farm in search of the right thing to set it on and ended up finding a shelving unit on the back of studio A. I removed the top 2 shelves then cleaned them off in the snow a good bit.
"IT'S ALREADY HERE!"
1:30 and the front was just hitting and I realized I had better get my ass out and fix the ethernet cable NOT in the rain.
I had to cut the wire then fix 2 new ends on and couple them together. I tested the wires and the tester showed them okay but the switch isn't showing a signal light... I have to dink with it today and get it going.
I stepped inside to terminate the end as the rain began to really fall. I was happy to be in the greenhouse at that time.
I'm still surprised we have snow on the ground with how much rain is falling. Even this morning there is still a lot despite the downpour all morning.
Before dark I opened the gate so UPS could drive into the house in hopes they would deliver on time. @stryeyz had to work super late so I got the boys and I dinner as the storm really hit.
I took time at the board and managed this nice throw. Why can't they do that about 4 inches lower?
It was another sad game for the Kraken who got beat up by Ottawa at home. This season will be a bottom end to middling at best come playoffs time.
UPS said 3-5pm and then around 7pm finally updated to "by 9pm" delivery. We were NOT amused. FINALLY at 8:45pm I saw the lights of the UPS truck backing up at the gate and driving off so I went out to carry my S19 back to the house. Rather annoying but I get it, it was late and they just wanted to get home and I do have a package box that kept it dry.
It's the 95T so it's the 34.5j/THs. Really the least they could have done after a 2 MONTH WAIT was bump me up a bit to the 29.5j/THs... It sucks that Kaboomracks is the cheapest cuz their customer service is on par with the cost....
I plugged it in and it powered on and began to ramp up. The ethernet cable wasn't showing signal on the switch so I think I borked the repair and will have to check it today when it stops raining. Hopefully it isn't DOA cuz I will be pretty pissed if it won't connect. Hopefully it's just my shitty cabling job....
It straight dumped rain all night and is just now moving off. It's going to clear and we are going to be near 50F today. I wish the winds were going to be more mellow so I could fly this afternoon. This morning I will fix the ethernet line then hopefully get my S19 up and hashing and heating the greenhouse. Boys to school, bale to sheep, PDC mid day, more through the 3d printer, then come up with dinner this evening.
