A warm winter has one significant drawback. I never thought we might have a problem with ticks in December! But the fact remains the fact. Two of my dogs are sick now. At the same time, both of them were treated for ticks. But probably the nature of the latter changes along with the climate and they have become more tenacious. Moreover, the symptoms of babesiosis (a disease caused by ticks) have become different. There is no longer a very high temperature, dark urine or jaundice, that is, everything that clearly signaled that you should take your dog and go to the vet clinic urgently. Therefore, I advise you to take an appropriate test for any oddities in the dog's behavior (reduced appetite, lethargy, apathy).
Today we will go to the vet clinic again. In the morning, both of my sick dogs ate and I hope that yesterday's intensive care gave results. But I'm very worried about the rest of my dogs. I haven't seen that tick, which means it can still be in the house. This means that at any time we can face the disease again. I am also concerned that the drugs that I considered reliable are no longer as reliable as before. If the pharmaceutical industry takes such money from us for them, they could take care of new developments, because the old ones are no longer effective!
