Just A Little HPUD Tale

    Magandang Buhay!

    February 1st...

    It's a friend's birthday, but nope, we did not have any party or so. She decided that part of growing up (adulting) was skipping the celebrations that we used to have when we were much younger. She has her reasons and we respect them. No drama. No further whys. She is thrilled and so we are. End of the story.

    It is also Hive Power Up Day here on the chain, hence, the time to power up or stake at least 10 HIVE. We like to do it. The practice is not forced. It's voluntary. We see staking HIVE as a way of saving that comes with certain benefits:

    • Growth in your Hive Power which consequently increases your curation rewards (when you support other authors through your upvotes);

    • You get more Resource Credits which are needed for any transaction here (commenting, posting, etc); and when you have more than enough, you can also delegate to others, especially new users.

    • You also earn APR (interest) on your Hive Power.

    • You get a Hivebuzz badge that signifies your participation.

    And of course, you feel good too. Well, at least that's what it is for me whenever I add something to my stakes, knowing that I'm doing it for the long run.

    Here's A Wee HPUD Story

    Once upon a while in the middle of December 2021, a noob learned about the HPUD initiative for the first time. From that moment, she decided to participate in it every month. The adventure began in January of 2022 and she has not skipped nor missed a single month since. 2024 is her third year of doing so and she intends to keep the streak, no matter what.

    So she did her thing today and had a Level 2 power-up (50 HIVE), increasing her total staked HIVE to 17,228 HP. Yes, growing it is a two-way process. With 50% of the content (and curation) rewards being powered up automatically on each payout time, her staking also helps, no matter the amount.

    ...The End😅

    Kidding aside, it's just part of the goal - to keep building while time and circumstances allow it. And it sure feels nice to have consistently done that in the last 2 years, and hope it continues for a much longer time.

    The thing is, the journey here is not always rosy or paved. It can be confusing at times and we wonder what to do next and such. We might even feel stupid at some point (well, maybe that was just me), but we can choose to keep on and learn along the way.

    Anyhow, hope you are having a fantastic day. This is all from me and Happy HivePUD, everyone!
