Am happy to announce the arrival of my second baby.
I was blessed with a bouncing baby girl on Sunday and that has been my main reason for being absent on hive for some days now .
Am glad that we are both healthy and bouncing and now I can continue blogging on hive with joy as always 🥰.
This has been my daily meals since Sunday, from the moment I gave birth to my baby and I will continue to enjoy this for a maximum of three months.
I will also be allowed to eat other food that I wish to eat except sugary foods but this dish must be among my meal every day .
This local herbal delicacy is very good for a lactating mother, it helps to wash bad blood in the stomach and it also relaxes the muscles.
It can be prepared both vegan and non-vegan but all the main ingredient needed are plantbased ingredients .
Anyone can take it except pregnant woman, it is not advisable for a pregnant woman to take it .
Let me quickly list the ingredients needed..
Half medium sized yam
Aju mbaise (the main herb)
1 tablespoon of Uda seed (xylopia aethiopica)
1 tablespoon of Uziza seed (piper guineense)
6pieces Fresh pepper
Uziza leaf(piper guineense leaf)
One and half litre of water
The aju mbaise is a combination of different herbs, bark and root .
I washed the AjU mbaise thoroughly and put it inside aclean pot ,
I added about one and half litre of water and allow to steam.
(The water is the main purpose of cooking this dish , meaning it requires enough water)
Pound both the Uda and Uziza together and add to the boiling pot then allow to boil for 10 minutes or more.
The color of the water changes the more it boils.
Peel and slice your yam into any size of your choice .
I prefer the big size so I can eat to my stomach content
After peeling then I added it to the pot and allow to boil until the yam softens .
My local delicacy is ready to enjoy.
It is advisable to drink the water hot .
All photos were taken by me
Thanks for reading till the end.
Yours faithfully:
