Intercultural Exchange in Nigeria

Getting a passport in Nigeria is llike winning a lottery; it brings great joy if successfully obtained. However, obtaining this passport isn't easy at all, as it comes with a lot of stress and is time-consuming. I remember when my friend went for a passport, the stress he went through was as if he was seeking something unachievable, and the stress left him halfway.

The cost to acquire a passport is also very exorbitant, coupled with a lot of requirements which one might end up not meeting. For someone who hasn't gone through the process of creating a passport, one might think it looks easy, but it is a journey that requires endurance. There was a time I needed to upgrade my account and I was requested to bring any means of identification. By then, NIN wasn't that rampant like it is now. Visiting the federal Secretariat for days without getting anything done left me with going for an International passport. The other options were more difficult to obtain. It was a hell of an experience for me.

I went to their office, and when I heard of all I needed to get started and the amount, it was then I had to rethink if I was ready for the journey. Mere looking at how things were going, I knew it wasn't something I could be patient to obtain. I had to go for NIN, not minding how many weeks it would take to get it done.

Depending on the kind of passport we have, we can have access to travel to different countries, and that gives us the opportunity to learn new cultures, languages from different continents. Regardless of what the case may be, there is still a need for intercultural exchange, and we are not ignorant of that. Different countries have cultural heritages that would make other citizens eager to come visit and immerse themselves in the spirit of the rich cultures.

As far as Nigeria is concerned, there are cultural heritages that make other countries all over the world see it as a place of attraction. Intercultural exchange occurs when different countries come together to share their way of life with other countries.

When it comes to Nigerian passports, holders have a limited number of countries to visit, and this is why we hear about immigration. Some countries have set rules and requirements before non-citizens can cross their border.

Getting the necessary documents needed and the fee involved can discourage someone seeking a passport. In Nigeria, two things are important: either you have the necessary requirements and money, or you have connections. Though obtaining this passport can be somewhat difficult and come with limitations, the joy that comes with having it at last and exploring other cultures is long-lasting. Through intercultural interactions with other countries, Nigerian citizens continue to make a positive impact on the world at large while embracing their cultural heritage.
