That Abyss is Named Greed

Life definitely wants everything we want to be fulfilled. But if getting enough of everything we want harms other people, even larger groups, then the word enough will turn into greed. Erich Fromm—a humanist philosopher, psychoanalyst, and social psychologist—describes avarice or greed as a bottomless pit that drains a person's energy in an endless effort to fulfill one need without ever achieving satisfaction.

A clear example of greed is someone who has committed corruption. We all know that corruption is a conscious effort carried out by someone who has power to achieve everything they want. Talking about fulfilling human needs will never happen to someone who is greedy. Life's necessities will be sufficient when there is gratitude for everything we have achieved.

Therefore, in this post I invite all friends in all parts of the world to together measure the word "sufficient life's needs" with gratitude. Hopefully, with gratitude for all that we have achieved, we will avoid covetousness and greed.
