My Opinion on Ronda Rousey's Memoir and WWE Experience

Hi friends, I managed to lay my hands on Ronda Rousey’s book, “Our Fight: A Memoir,” which has been the talk of the town.

I want to share my thoughts with you because it made me think about her time in WWE and her feelings about it.

Let me first say that I’m a diehard Ronda Rousey fan. I have followed her career from UFC to WWE, so I was glad she wrote this memoir.

In this book, she does not hold anything back. She talks about her issues with WWE management including Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. It was interesting to find out how openly she talked about bad times in her life.

One thing that struck me was her disapproval of Laurinaitis. She calls him an “entitled sixty-year-old former frat boy” and she didn’t like him at all.

Rousey believes Laurinaitis ruined NXT after taking over for Triple H, whom she credits as a good leader.

When I read Rousey’s statement, I can’t help but be disappointed. I thought WWE was a dream for her, however it didn’t seem so great after all. It is disheartening to hear that someone I look up to had such a rough time in my favorite place.

However, the open truthfulness depicted by Rousey is reinvigorating. Certainly, speaking about own life experiences takes courage especially when you are public figure.

Further evidence of this is that Laurinaitis was released by WWE based on allegations of improper conduct; hence suggesting that he has struck a chord with others too.

As far as Rousey’s future in WWE goes, she sounds like she is over it. In an interview she said wouldn’t want to come back ever again .

It’s bittersweet because although I would have liked her comeback, I understand if she doesn’t want to do it anymore.

Ronda Rousey's memoir left me with many thoughts. It has changed my perception of WWE and made me respect Rousey more for telling the truth.

I will support her in any decision she makes, whether it is UFC, WWE or something else altogether.
