After what seemed like a long winter my cacti are finally waking up. Although we usually get a couple really cold weeks in winter this year was pretty mild.
I live in Canada so the winters can be cold. I am in a semi arid desert area in southern British Columbia so my cactus seems to do really well here.
I'm in a zone 6. I have some cacti that was planted about 15 years ago and survive the winters.
I still need to do some yard work and clean up the leaves and tall grass. :)
Almost all my cacti survived. There are a few that didn't make it from the winter. I think it was the lack of snow. They didn't have a good snow insulation from the cold nights.
Also had some yucca rostratas not make it this winter. :(
I have a lot of clean up this season to make all the cacti areas look good again.
I look forward to getting back into some gardening this summer and planting some new varieties.
I hope you enjoyed a few pictures of my cacti garden. I look forward to posting an update later this season. :)
Happy Gardening!
