It was really difficult. You know,the popular aim of everyone whilst going into a new year is always to become better, coupled with some other wishes and things to happen to them in the next year. As I stay seated in a church for the crossover service into 2025, I can't help but feel a hint of nostalgia. It's really come to an end. And no,i won't give into the idea or the common saying that's going all around in memes presently,"It's just another year. This isn't your first new. It's nothing special". Ofcourse it is something special! It is something special. Being part of the lucky and healthy humans to live till the last day of the year is an amazing thing. And not only that,I get to share this moment with my loved ones.
So to that; I am grateful. I am grateful for all the laughter I had this year. I am grateful for not losing my mind when life began to hit hard. I am grateful for not losing anyone. I am grateful for the amazing people I met and know,both on here and where I live. I am grateful for the resources I have to survive. I am grateful for the amount of times I fell and got right back up. I am grateful to God for the strength given to me. I am grateful for all the wins I had this year and I do not feel so bad about my losses because it's going to be good next time.
Now,I normally don't go into the new year with expectations or a lot of expectations. There's just this common wish of mine to be better. I am grateful I got some time to do what I love. I was able to read books that makes me feel alive,I was able to draw till whenever,I was able to afford what I wanted to buy at a particular time(even if I wasn't able to afford what I needed and wanted sometimes. Life is like that sometimes). I smiled a lot this year! It might not seem much to people around me cause sometimes I'm still always frowning but I was genuinely happy most of the time this year. I can only wish and hope to be better next year.
And with that,the 2024 season comes to an end.❤️
