PhotoFeed Contest - Black & White Photography Round 67: Mother [ENG/ESP]

“In a child's eyes, a mother is a goddess. She can be glorious or terrible, benevolent or filled with wrath, but she commands love either way. I am convinced that this is the greatest power in the universe.”

    N.K. Jemisin

    Mother

A mother is a female or woman who has given birth, that is to say, who has had direct offspring.

Currently, this concept of motherhood transcends the limits of biology, and this title can also be given to a woman who fulfills this role without necessarily being biologically related to the child, but includes factors such as love, care and attention, as is the case of an adoptive mother.

In the surroundings of the Jacinto Lara International Airport in the city of Barquisimeto, there is, or used to be, this work known as the Plaza Monument to the Mothers, which has an image made of marble, measuring about 2 meters high and presenting the figure of a woman seated and surrounded by three children.

The female figure, located in the central part of the sculpture, has her head slightly inclined downwards and her face facing the front. The piece is placed on a marble base that in turn is supported by a red marble pedestal in the form of a truncated pyramid.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
