Hello friends. I continue sharing the beautiful memories from our Italy vacation with you. One morning instead of going to the beach, we decided to visit the city of Lecce. It was about a 50 minute drive from the house where we were staying. We had passed through this city on our way to the house; it’s a historical and very beautiful place. That day we decided to walk around the city and planned to go to the beach in the afternoon.
We parked our car and started exploring. We reached Lecce Cathedral and there was a wedding happening there. It was lovely. The bride and groom arrived in a Ferrari. They entered the cathedral together, while tourists were taking photos. Everyone was taking pictures around the Ferrari. The place was decorated with flowers and the atmosphere was wonderful.
We saw that it was possible to take a tour with a train-like vehicle here. We really liked the houses that came our way. Large windows, high ceilings and they were all very impressive. Some houses were completely covered with flowers. People had decorated their homes beautifully.
We were looking for the amphitheater and we finally found it. It’s not very big, but it’s an ancient Roman structure. Shows used to be held here in the past. Now it stands as a tourist monument. The city is beautiful and worth visiting. There are many interesting streets and places. Generally you can find such places in every city in Europe, especially in Italy. It’s very well-maintained, clean and organized; there are playgrounds, fountains... then the kids got hungry and we headed to McDonald's.
We crossed a bridge. The weather was very hot, so we took a break in the shade. Afterward, we ate at McDonald's. There was a man making music with plastic buckets, it was really nice. My daughters danced and they loved it. After the meal we had some ice cream, but I’m not a big fan of McDonald's. I just ate something to keep up with the group.
We started heading back to the house, but there were dark clouds ahead. Before we got home, it started raining heavily. Soon after the power in the house went out. There was a storm and the weather was a bit scary. Then our neighbor helped us. We turned on the generator. Naturally we couldn’t go swimming that day. It was cold.
The next day the sun came out. We swam a bit until noon. It was nice. Then the storm came, but after noon it was sunny again. The weather changed frequently. As evening came, the rain stopped and we decided to go back to the beach. My husband and I were there, while my daughter played on the rocks. We spent the entire evening there. We were the only ones on the beach. There were very few people. Everyone was at home, probably staying in because of the weather. Our schedule was sea, house, house, sea for a few days. It was very beautiful and we constantly wanted to swim in the sea.
