Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing to you from Cape Town in South Africa!
Welcome to "Three Tune Tuesday", an initiative started by @ablaze. It is week 144 overall! My current pattern for how I will be contributing to TTT is to take the Hive Open Mic challenge Theme of the Week and give suggestions on how I would tackle it!
For those of you who are not familiar, the Hive Open Mic is a weekly challenge on the Hive Open Mic community for anybody who loves to sing. You don’t even need to play an instrument, a backing track or a cappella is also fine as far as I can tell!
Different artists are given the chance to choose a “Theme of the Week” that the posts should be based on. Often it can be difficult for people to think about easy songs that might fit that theme… so let me see if I can be of any assistance to the people who still might not know what to try by the time Tuesday comes around!

It was the turn of @oluwadrey to pick a theme, and this week the theme is “Memories”.

Here’s an obvious one… Here’s the original that was a big hit a few years ago:
In fact, here’s my version of the song, where instead of playing guitar, I used a valiha… which is a sort of bamboo zither from the islands East of Africa (Madagascar, Comores, etc)…
SONG NUMBER 2
“Memory” (Cats) – Andrew Lloyd Webber
The beautiful song in the play “Cats”. This song was first sung by the first actress playing the cat “Grizabella”, which was Elaine Paige. Andrew Lloyd Webber also helped Barbara Streisand produce her beautiful version of it:

“Memories” – Andre de Villiers
Most South Africans of a certain age remember a car advert for Volkswagen that was unusually sweet and emotional, probably because of the song they used as the backing track by a local songwriter called Andre de Villiers. Here’s that advert:
The song does actually have a bridge section and is a little bit longer. Here is Andre de Villiers performing the song live at the Baxter Theatre here in Cape Town:
So that's week 144 done and dusted! I hope that gave some people some ideas on how to tackle the Hive Open Mic Challenge this week? Perhaps I’ve even inspired one or two new people to give it a try? Please let me know!

Bienvenidos a "Three Tune Tuesday", una iniciativa iniciada por @ablaze. ¡Es la semana 144 en total! Mi patrón actual sobre cómo contribuiré a TTT es tomar el tema de la semana del desafío Hive Open Mic y dar sugerencias sobre cómo lo abordaría.
Para aquellos de ustedes que no están familiarizados, Hive Open Mic es un desafío semanal en la comunidad de Hive Open Mic para cualquiera que ame cantar. ¡Ni siquiera necesitas tocar un instrumento, por lo que yo sé, una pista de acompañamiento o a capela también está bien!
Diferentes artistas tienen la oportunidad de elegir un “Tema de la semana” en el que se basarán las publicaciones. A menudo puede resultar difícil para las personas pensar en canciones sencillas que puedan encajar en ese tema... ¡así que déjenme ver si puedo ser de alguna ayuda para las personas que quizás todavía no sepan qué probar cuando llegue el martes!

De hecho, aquí está mi versión de la canción, donde en lugar de tocar la guitarra, usé una valiha… que es una especie de cítara de bambú de las islas del este de África (Madagascar, Comoras, etc)…

La hermosa canción de la obra “Cats”. Esta canción fue cantada por primera vez por la primera actriz que interpretó a la gata “Grizabella”, que fue Elaine Paige. Andrew Lloyd Webber también ayudó a Barbara Streisand a producir su hermosa versión:
