I Made My First Crichet Cross Body Bag

Hello my beautiful needleworkers it’s July and I have something really exciting and beautiful to share here today. But before that I hope you all had a wonderful 1st day of July. Firstly I want you all to bear with me I had the process pictures and all but I got robbed. Only thing I could retrieve is a video I posted online so there are screenshot from that video.

Back to the project. I’ve talked about how social media has gotten me a whole lot of clients but as a lil hint to show up more I’ll specify the exact one this one came from. I was making random posts about my work on all my platforms like I do everyday and I got a text from someone asking if I can make shoulderbags with my crochet.

To be honest I’ve never tried making a shoulder bag but my default answer to that question is always yes. Even I can or cannot. Have or haven’t made that particular design I’ll say I can then research on the stitch or pattern or design and get your job delivered. Which has always worked out for me for the past years.

When he texted, he asked if I was capable of making and delivering the exact design to which I replied yes. And he was delighted. We went through the pricing and then he made payment. It was already evening so I couldn’t make it to the yarn store till the next day because it got dark already.

The next morning I set out for the market and viola I found the colors I went home and got to work almost immediately. I made this in different panels because I wanted it to come out how it was and also if I had any mistakes panels are easier to frog than full projects.

I went on to the sides of the bag. I wasn’t sure of the lines so I had to be extra careful. SoI finished up with the two sides of the panel and when I finished up with that I went on the make the handle. Well technically I also used to handle to make the sides of the bag that’s that’s why the side looks somewhat curved.
It took a while to make the part that handle part of the cross body bag because it was going to be an adjustable handle so I had to make it long enough to fit any length he wanted to wear it as. I went on to join all the parts of this project using single crochet and it was tasking but I ended up finishing it up. And I also covered the buckles to add a little more beauty to the project.

I went on to send him a video like I usually do for all the other clients and he absolutely loved it. Told me it look good and the best part is that he shared it and mentioned me on his Snapchat story and that was what I woke up to this morning so it gave me a whole lot of happiness to run for the day.
I thanked him and reposted it too. Anyways he’s i love with that bag and I’m happy he is.
    Thank you for reading.
    Love y’all
