How’s it going Hive Mates? It has been a while since I mustered up the energy to share posts consistently on this platform. I’m glad to read and appreciate the opportunity I get. Today the post is all about my recent trip to Summer Sands Beach Resort.

The more I think about it, the name Summer Sands is quite eloquent. A beautiful resort owned by the Albuquerque family at Ullal. Back in 1972 this was the first beach resort of Karnataka. Funny enough the name Ullala came from the Portugal exclamation OLALA when he saw the beauty of the Sandy Land.

Located at such a picturesque shoreline with a range of views of fishermen and local boats with nets being casted in the distance. Rarely seen in the background is massive ships moving post meridian with their horn blaring from the shore.

The vast ocean you see here is the Arabian Sea 🌊 if this isn’t calming enough you can always use their amenities to get a relaxed experience. The indoor club, outdoor sports, ayurvedic massage is bound to change the way you feel. Mangalore may be a tiny city but it has a lot to offer in terms of tranquil mellow vibes.

The skies here are so magical, a great combination with the busy waves. Makes you glare right into the sunset. Seagulls, crows and some kingfishers are often seen hunting for protein rich fish. Their screeching dialogue makes you stair into the natures fish fest 😂 🎣

Sitting here with a camera, you can see over 80,000 birds. Sometimes even the migratory birds nest here in the trees. The location is filled with palm trees at every 10 feet distance 🌴

On the opposite corner after we had a 5 minute walk we got to see some huge black rocks 🪨

The breathtaking glory of the sea diminishes the chaos of everyday life. The endless footsteps on the sand goes a million miles, showcasing how the humans have a print on nature.

The rocks were filled with so many incredible barnacles. My mom was narrating the story of how as a kid they used to eat them too and it used be a delicacy. Now a days those memories seem bleak. It’s funny how many of these past experiences have faded away when compared to the present day generation.

She then went on to explain all the sea treats they used to catch fresh from the sea, every time they went to the beach. At times they got a whole net of fish that they distributed within the families.

All the sides of the rock was filled with those creatures. Meanwhile the waves would harshly come and fall all over the sand and rocks, creative tiny puddles. The reflection from those puddles showed the beautiful sky 🌌

There is something that I’ve noticed, a lot of the oldies tend to be scared on the beaches and the youngsters playing in the beach and enjoying the salty fun water makes them feel like they are gonna all drown themselves. Which is why I had to come a little bit farther than my family and dip my feet 👣

But the clashing waves on the rocks got me so intrigued that I had to click a small video which got me wet. 🤣 and the oldie glared at me as I had partially wet pants.

We came to the resort at 11 am and took a stroll, saw the villas. Did you know they own 42 spacious villas and greenery all around to complement the site and attract tourists.

The Terracotta Villas in the 15 acre plot are old and rustic. Built back in the British Era, also viewing them made me realise how spacious the interiors were back then. There is even a cute swimming pool where kids end up having their own little fun. Then come out all soaking wet and shivering 🥶 which makes it so much cuter with the wrapped up towels 🥺✨

Often events are seen during weekends. Be it birthday parties or conferences, this is a unique spot to have a very calming effect on the overall experience 🥳

In the evenings we get to see pre-wedding or engagement shoots. A backdrop always laying in the windy Summer Sands. They also have a restaurant facing the south side of the beach.

We had some chilled beer and Squid, prawns and fish fingers. Yum! What a treat it was.
There’s no better place to eat seafood 🍤 than the nearest shore.

That was our end of the trip, we then went shopping after the Big Lunch. 🥙
This entire post seemed perfectly themed Blueee. A perfect combination with the glowing yellow of the beer battered squid. The bubbles within the beer made a cute little fizzy feeling that later resulted in burps 🍺🫧 Man I haven’t been so full.

The property has ancient architecture and oldest structures that are built from mud bricks. 🧱
Have you ever been to a beach resort? Do u stay close to the shore? Let me know in the comments. 😉
