Happy Friday my dear readers, I hope you are all well and also that you have had an excellent week full of productivity, this time I'm here to share with you an illustration in which I've been working the last couple of days and that I finished just last night; in recent weeks I have devoted much to draw on themes such as magic, war, fantasy and others, and it seemed a good time to get out of that bubble and paint about something different and freer. It turns out that while I was sketching and trying poses I had the idea of illustrating something about the theme of melancholy which I haven't done anything for a long time, and the idea I had was to create a pretty young woman which I called by the name of (Magnoliah) which as you can see is perched smoking a cigarette while tears of sadness run down her cheeks; I hope you like it a lot and without further ado I leave you with the process of creation and painting:
Feliz Viernes mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras, espero que se encuentren full bien y también que hayan tenido una excelente semana llena de productividad, en esta ocasión estoy por aquí para compartirles una ilustración en la que estuve trabajando el ultimo par de días y que termine apenas anoche; en las ultimas semanas me he dedicado mucho a dibujar sobre temáticas como de magia, guerra, fantasía y demás, y ya me pareció un buen momento para salir un poco de esa burbuja y pintar sobre algo diferente y mas libre. Resulta que mientas bocetaba y probaba poses se me vino la idea de ilustrar algo sobre la temática de la melancolía de la cual hace mucho tiempo que no realizaba nada, y la idea que tuve fue la de crear una linda mujer joven a la cual llamé por el nombre de (Magnoliah) la cual como podrán ver se encuentra posada fumando un cigarrillo mientras las lágrimas de tristeza corren por sus mejillas; espero les guste mucho y sin mas los dejo con el proceso de creación y pintado:

I started the creation of (Magnoliah) looking for a good portrait style structure that normally are the ones that are easier for me, I drew her with a thin appearance, with short hair and holding a lit cigarette in her left hand while in her face you can appreciate a great sadness and desolation; With the line art already finished I immediately went to the choice of skin colors which is where I usually like to start, in this case I chose as a base a yellow color with a tendency to soft browns and with the airbrush I was shaping little by little the volume and shape of the face, neck and arms.
Inicie la creación de (Magnoliah) buscándole una buena estructura a estilo retrato que normalmente son las que se me facilitan un poco más, la dibuje con una apariencia delgada, con cabello corto y sosteniendo un cigarrillo encendido en su mano izquierda mientras en su rostro se logra apreciar una gran tristeza y desolación; con el line art ya culminado me pase inmediatamente a la elección de los colores de la piel que es por donde normalmente me gusta empezar, en este caso elegí como base un color amarillo con tendencia a los marrones suaves y con el aerógrafo fui plasmando poco a poco el volumen y la forma del rostro, cuello y brazos.
Something I like to do in separate layers is to create shadows like on the neck for example where the natural lighting does not reach, as well as occlusion shadows produced under the hair and on the jaw, as well as certain lights on the upper parts of the nose, forehead, eyelids and others; something I do with all my female characters is that with the airbrush I give brush strokes of blush on the cheeks and nose, this helps me to give a little more warmth to the face and above all a much more stylized appearance. Once all the skin was finished the next thing I paid special attention to was the eyes and lips, in the case of the eyes I painted them in an intense blue tone that I really liked along with a lot of glitter on the edges and the pupil; in the case of the lips I used soft orange tones trying to give them a good volume, especially the lower lip.
Algo que me gusta hacer en capas apartes es crear sombras como en el cuello por ejemplo donde no llega la iluminación natural, así como también sombras de oclusión producidas debajo del cabello y en la mandíbula, al igual que también ciertas luces en las partes altas de la nariz, frente, parpados y demás; algo que hago con todos mis personajes femeninos es que con el aerógrafo doy brochazos de rubor en las mejillas y nariz, esto me ayuda a darle un poco más de calidez al rostro y sobre todo un apariencia mucho más estilizada. Una vez terminada toda la piel lo siguiente a lo que le puse especial atención fue a los lo ojos y los labios, en el cao de los ojos los pinte de una tonalidad azul intenso que me gustó muchísimo junto con bastantes brillos en los bordes y la pupila; en el caso de los labios use tonos naranjas suaves tratando de darles un buen volumen, sobre todo al labio inferior.
In the case of clothing I chose to create for my character an intense red cloth shirt, with a flat brush I painted the shirt with a very thin style and adjusted to the body of (Magnoliah), with the help of the airbrush I created the first layer of soft texture for the shirt, then with flat brushes I was texturing a little better and creating a better effect of shine to give the appearance that the shirt is made of fine silk fabric. In the case of the hair I chose to create a short hair style slightly open at the ends and to give it life I used a soft orange color that I liked a lot, then with the airbrush I was shaping little by little thick strands from the top to the sides and also giving a little bulky shape to the fringe; finally with my 3-tip brush I was creating a little more volume with very bright thin strands, plus with a layer of glitter I illuminated a little the top of the crown of the head.
En el caso de la vestimenta opte por crear para mi personaje una camisa de tela roja intensa, con un pincel plano pinte la camisa con un estilo bastante delgado y ajustado al cuerpo de (Magnoliah), con ayuda del aerógrafo cree la primera capa de textura suave para la camisa, luego con pinceles planos fui texturizando un poco mejor y creando mejor efecto de brillos para dar la apariencia de que la camisa esta hecha de tela de seda fina. En el caso del cabello opte por crear un cabello a estilo corto levemente abierto en las puntas y para darle vida use un color naranja suave que me gustó mucho, luego con el aerógrafo fui plasmando poco a poco mechones un poco gruesos desde arriba hacia los lados y también dándole un poco de forma abultada al flequillo; finalmente con mi pincel de 3 puntas fui creando un poco mas de volumen con mechones delgados muy brillantes, además de que con una capa de brillos ilumine un poco la parte alta de la coronilla.
In the final part I painted the cigarette in his left hand using shades of gray and a little yellow, I painted the cigarette trying to give it a fairly realistic appearance with somewhat diffuse brushes, and at the tip with my cloud brush I gave shape to what would be the flare part of the cigarette; then with the same cloud brush but at medium opacity and using the light gray color I created a small trail of smoke emanating from the cigarette to give a better illusion that it is lit. To finish everything I painted the background creating some green bushes just behind (Magnoliah), and in the deepest part of the background the sky painting some clouds and a medium moon illuminating the night scene; also with light colors and applying a couple of layer effects I could give that shiny watery appearance to the tears coming out of the character's eyes.
En la parte final pinte el cigarrillo en su mano izquierda usando tonos como el gris y un poco de amarillo, pinte el cigarrillo tratando de darle una apariencia bastante realista con pinceles un tanto difusos, y en la punta con mi pincel de nubes di forma a lo que seria la parte de la llamarada del cigarrillo; posteriormente con el mismo pincel de nubes pero a opacidad media y usando el color gris claro cree una pequeña estela de humo emanando del cigarrillo para dar una mejor ilusión de que se encuentra encendido. Ya para culminar todo pinté el fondo creando algunos arbustos verdes justo detrás de (Magnoliah), y en lo mas profundo del background ambiente el cielo pintando algunas nubes y una luna media iluminando la escena nocturna; además con colores claros y aplicando un par de efectos de capa pude dar esa apariencia acuosa brillante a las lágrimas que brotan de los ojos del personaje.
