Embracing the Evolution: Reflecting on the Changing World and Longing for the Past

It's interesting to see how evolution is taking over our world today, making impacts on our lifestyle and technology both positively and negatively. A lot has changed from what it's used to be; many things are gradually fading away through time, and sometimes I wish to have the magical power of bringing back some of the old ways of doing things to come into play nowadays.

I thought of how personal interaction was beautiful until technology took it away. Now family members interact more with their gadgets than with one another. I also thought of how writing was a beautiful thing as it helped us exercise our brains, think creatively, and be innovative until technology came, like Google, Chat, GPT, etc. We now rely on them to get the spelling of our words correctly and even get our grammar right..So sad.

All these and more are worth bringing back to our world today, however. If I had the power to bring back one thing that has faded with time in our society, then it’s going to be decency. Decency used to be appreciated (how we dress, comport ourselves, respect people, relate to our relatives, etc.).I remember when we used to abuse ladies who put on trousers back then and labeled them prostitutes; now women walk naked and are celebrated. There's now serious decay in moral decadence.

When our young ones lack decency, it attracts other negative attitudes. Imagine dressing to show your sensitive parts of the body. What do you expect other than an increase in immorality? Most of these naked dresses aren't being addressed, but rather we see them as smart and classic. We go ahead to showcase nakedness on social media, where teenagers see all these and copy them. Then it keeps spreading and gradually becomes the norm.
It has gotten to the point where our young ones don't care how they dress for church. Decency is gradually fading away. Go to secondary schools and see the short skirts some of these girls student wear to school. No wonder the rate of immorality amongst secondary school students is on the rise. Too bad most of these students now know about drugs to take to avoid getting pregnant after messing with their opposite sex.

Married women are not left out in this one. I have seen young wives like me dress almost half naked in the name of attending a party. The question is, even if the husband is not complaining, what about the children looking up to you? What morals are you teaching them? Of course they will grow to dress the same, and the circle keeps going because we see nothing wrong with it; we have indeed embraced evolution.

No gender is an exception to this; you will see young guys sagging their trousers and wearing all manner of crazy dressings. Back in the day, our ancestors valued decency and kept their society sane. I never read that they celebrated nakedness like we do today. Sometimes, I watch some of these singers on TV, and the nakedness they exhibit is alarming, and our growing kids are seeing this. The thing is that a lack of decency gives birth to lots of other negativities, and thus the need to embrace decency still exists with the evolution of today's world.

In conclusion, morality is the soul of any sane society. It is the invisible canopy under which societal norms and values reside. Embracing good morals will definitely make our society a great place to thrive.
