How are you today friends? I hope you are having a great day and drinking a nice cup of coffee to start the day strong. Well in my case right now I am drinking coffee while I write this, 😅 I bet many of you are too. Well friends, today I have returned to once again bring you a new story. Today I have dedicated it to letter R199 Harriet. As you can see in the image below, it is a very nice letter and that is why I chose it for today. The story is about how she changes her life, which we could consider successful by looking for something that makes her feel better. I hope you like it. Let's begin.

Our friend Harriet is someone very special, because she is very good with everyone and she likes to get along with everyone. She is a very famous singer and despite this she has never let fame or ego get to her head and see others as inferior beings, maybe that is why she was so loved by everyone. Since she started her career she had been a soloist, and she had never been part of a band, she always liked to work alone, but this was about to change soon. You see in these last years in which she has led a star life as a singer she has won many awards, filled entire concerts in stadiums but all this felt very strange.

Strange in the sense that she felt as if in a certain way she was singing on automatic. It is not surprising that recently she began to wonder when she was in her dressing room, when was the last time she had sung something just because, because she wanted to, without thinking about the contract or the expectations of the fans? You know the truth is that she herself could not remember it. She always likes to please others, so she often checks her social media to see what fans want her to sing next, or what they didn't like. And accordingly she adapts her style and music to reach more people and make them satisfied with her music.

In addition to her fans, she also pleases her manager and some of her sponsors by creating songs that they like. But of course, when you try to please and please, you forget to please the most important person, yes, yourself. She was already beginning to feel that she was not making songs that she really liked or that conveyed what she felt for fear of upsetting others. The truth is that despite being at a symbolic peak, she was not happy at all. She missed the moments when she started in this music career, especially the excitement of giving a new concert or the nerves. Others would be horrified to know that she liked the humble beginnings of her career, because according to society's standards she was at the peak of stardom. But one thing is to imagine that life and another is to live it.

It just so happens that one day when she was on her way home, she decided to go into a coffee shop that seemed quiet, hoping to clear her mind. She was still tired of fancy restaurants and such. That's why she decided to go into a more reserved place. At the place she asked for a sweet to go and while they were making it for her she saw that there was something interesting on the notice board. First there were the classic yoga ads and even some pottery classes. And of course in the middle of all that there was a sign that said: "Looking for a singer for an amateur band. Experience doesn't matter, just a desire to have fun. Rehearsals on Wednesday nights. Bring a good sense of humor." You know when Harriet read that she couldn't help but laugh out loud. An amateur band? That sounded so far from her world that it seemed perfect.

She imagined starting her career again, like she had done years ago, but now instead of being a soloist it would be with a whole band. So in the end, while she was eating the candy she had come to get, she decided that this would be her way of escaping from her mental prison. When Wednesday arrived, she wanted to go as casual as possible to the event. She put on some old jeans and a random sweatshirt from the piles she had lying around in her closets. She tied her hair up in a ponytail, partly she also wanted to go unnoticed.

She left for the venue in her car and when she arrived she saw that the rehearsal space was in a garage. That seemed great to her, she didn't want to go back to the studios for now. When she entered she saw that inside there was an older man adjusting a cheap piano, there was a woman in her thirties who was practicing on her drums, a guy with a guitar and a guy who was possibly the leader of the band. She is not shy and she left her nerves behind a long time ago, so she greeted them all when she arrived and they all greeted her back, they were very friendly.

After that she told them that she was there because she wanted to join the band because she saw their ad in a coffee shop. They told her it was no problem, that there were still empty seats. They only asked her name, when they found out that she was Harriet the famous singer they got a little upset. Well, at first what came to their mind was that she was there to make fun of them and their lack of talent because they were just starting out. She had to work hard to convince them why she was actually there. After the first heated conversation they finally understood her and spent the rest of the day apologizing to her. In fact they even told her that her experience could help the band a lot.

She didn't get angry or upset at all, in fact she was happy. They agreed to start rehearsing in 2 days. She called her manager to tell him to cancel his entire schedule for an indefinite period until he finished another project, but she didn't tell him which one. So in 2 days the rehearsals began. Luckily, each member already had some experience playing the instrument they mastered, so it was easier to get started. Since all she knew was how to sing, that would be her role.

They spent the next few months together practicing almost daily in the garage. Jorge, the band leader, wrote the songs, and then she polished them to make them even better. And then they all played together. They got to prepare more than 10 songs. With that amount they were ready to release their first album. But they didn't want to just do it like that. They thought it would be more exciting to do a concert so more people would know about them, and Harriet thought it was a good idea.

They used the local venues again to post ads and let people know about the concert they were going to do. And for her part, Harriet used her social networks with her thousands of followers to promote the event. When the day came, the place was packed to the rafters, many of Harriet's fans had come to see the performance.

When they finished the concert, many producers and managers wanted to partner with them and Harriet. But they wouldn't stumble over the same stone again, now they would be independent. In Harriet's case she now felt completely happy, because she had now managed to be herself again and had freed herself from the pressure of the industry.
