This film has generated a lot of talk about the cast, the CGI, the music and even issues like politics and nationality.

The story has had changes, and that's normal, since the original, despite whoever you like, had macho stereotypes and plot holes.

Beyond ‘correcting’ these things - because I understand that the original is from the 30s and that at that time it was normal - I don't support censoring this film.

But this is 2025, and there are some things that can't be done anymore. It's not ‘not to offend’, it's because there are things that are simply wrong.

Also, I don't understand the criticism of Zegler for giving his opinion, when he is completely free to do so, and the things he criticised are not even present in this version.

I'm not a fan of live action, for the simple reason that it's not going to surpass the original, mainly because it's usually a copy/paste of it. But in this case, as in The Jungle Book or Mulan, the story is different in terms of script; it is deeper or even more serious, correcting some of the mistakes of the original.

In this version, everything doesn't just happen: there is a rebellion, a backstory, and it makes more sense.

Besides, the ‘fans’ are pretty heavy-handed about it. For example, in Mulan they complained that there was no Mushu and that there were no songs, while in The Lion King they complained because it was exactly the same thing.

The cast is great. The only one who stands out, and not just because she's the lead, is Rachel Zegler, who dazzles with her voice and charisma in an overwhelming way.

Gal Gadot, on the other hand, is a bit overacted; she's not as bad as they say, but she's mediocre. The rest of the cast is acceptable, but nothing extraordinary.

The music is very good, far from the rubbish that was the Wish soundtrack. These new original songs are good, and the new versions of the classics are very good.

The Brothers Grimm fairy tale brought to this version enhances more than ever a much-needed moral for our current generations in this fateful and uncertain 21st century.
One only has to read some of the excessively derogatory and unpleasant criticisms to see the ‘ugliness’, which is closer to hatred than to constructive, that is taking hold of more and more people today. The moral: true beauty comes from within.
