Hello movie lovers. Being the third time it has been produced, this movie is based con the book of the same name, written by Mary Rodgers, starring the famous Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. Plot
The film introduces us to Anna and Tess Coleman, Anna is a 15 year old girl who has a rock band where she is the guitarist and vocalist. On the other hand, Dr. Tess is a woman who lives taking care of her patients over her children, especially Anna who has problems at school because of one of her classmates and also because of her literature teacher, who flunks all her exams, no matter how hard she studies. To make matters worse, she can't practice quietly with her band at home because it annoys her mother, who thinks she's making a racket and cuts off her electricity when they do.
Finally, her mother is about to marry her boyfriend, who is a man Anna doesn't like at all, and she is at odds with Tess for always disagreeing with everything and never understanding each other on anything. One night, they both go with the family (her younger brother, her grandfather and her mother's boyfriend) to a Chinese restaurant where, as usual, they both argue because she doesn't give him permission for her to participate in an event where her band is going to play on Friday. At that moment, the owner of the establishment approaches them and gives them a couple of "fortune cookies", which will completely change their lives.

La película nos presenta a Anna y Tess Coleman, Anna es una chica de 15 años que tiene una banda de rock donde ella es guitarrista y vocalista. Por otro lado, la Doctora Tess es una mujer que vive atendiendo a sus pacientes por encima de sus hijos, sobre todo por Anna quien tiene problemas en la escuela tanto por una de sus compañeras de clase como también por su profesor de literatura, el cual se la vive reprobando todos sus exámenes, sin importar cuánto se esfuerce estudiando. Para colmo, ella no puede practicar tranquila con su banda en su casa ya que así molesta a su madre, quien piensa que está haciendo bulla y le corta la electricidad cuando lo hacen.
Por último, su madre está por casarse con su novio, el cual es un hombre que no le agrada para nada a Anna, quien está enemistada con Tess por siempre estar en desacuerdo con todo y no entenderse nunca en nada. Una noche, ambas van con la familia (su hermano menor, su abuelo y el novio de la madre) a un restaurante chino donde, como siempre, ambas discutieron porque ella no le da permiso para que ella participe en un evento en el que irá su banda a tocar el viernes. En ese momento, la dueña del establecimiento se les acerca y les regala un par de “galletas de la suerte”, las cuales harán que sus vidas cambien por completo.

Lindsay Lohan, as always, demonstrates great work in playing both the rebellious daughter at the beginning of the film and the mother trapped in her body. The same can be said for Jamie Lee Curtis, who showed impressive versatility in playing the doctor at the beginning and her trapped-in-her-body daughter in the rest of the film. That mix of roles is always interesting to watch as you get caught up in the idea of what a person trapped in someone else's body would be like, which in this case I admit is very well done.
On the other hand, the story we are told can make us reflect a lot on the way we see family problems and feel "what the other person feels", especially if it is a very close relative of ours. However, this does not take away from the fun of this movie, which has a lot of awkward moments, very funny jokes and situations that can be taken out of context very easily. The way it jokes and makes the viewer laugh with situations that appear to be common and ordinary is what makes this movie an incredible classic of the genre.
Personally, I give it a rating of 8.5/10 as far as the teen comedy/fantasy genre is concerned.

Lindsay Lohan, como siempre, demuestra un grandioso trabajo al interpretar tanto a la hija rebelde, al principio de la película, como a la madre atrapada en su cuerpo. Lo mismo se puede decir de Jamie Lee Curtis, quien demostró una versatilidad impresionante al interpretar a la doctora al principio y a su hija atrapada en su cuerpo en el resto de la película. Sin embargo, esto no quita lo divertida de esta película, la cual tiene un montón de momentos incómodos, chistes muy graciosos y situaciones que pueden sacarse de contexto muy fácilmente. La manera de bromear y hacer reír al espectador con situaciones que aparentan ser comunes y corrientes es lo que hace de esta película un increíble clásico del género.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 8.5/10 en lo que respecta al género de comedia juvenil y fantasía.
