    Tekwan

Since childhood, both my parents more seriing introduce side dishes in the form of fish rather than various meats. The reason is simple, because in my father's spare time, he sometimes goes to the river not far from the location of our family rice fields to run fish. although the fish I knew from childhood were mostly freshwater fish, however, the bigger the more diverse the fish I knew, including seawater fish.

Perhaps it was from this habitat that my passion for fish or any processed fish became my favourite. One of them is what is my favourite food now: TEKWAN

    tekwan

As a fan of various processed fish, of course this typical food from Palembang must be on my list. Actually, Palembang does have a variety of foods made from ian-based ingredients, such as: pempek, celimpungan, and tekwan. However, if I had to rank the three, I would put tekwan as my favourite food at the top, followed by pempek with its spicy amnis sauce, and finally celimpungan.

Tekwan is made from fish mixed with tapioca and boiled into small pieces similar to meatballs, except that the shape of the tekwan is not perfectly round. Then, after the initial main dough is finished, the tekwan will be poured into a clear broth with a refreshing shrimp fragrance. Not to mention, in a bowl of tekwan, in addition to the initial dough there are also slices of bengkoang, ear mushrooms and also vermicelli which complement each other. Tinnggal diksih mnipis or lime juice, plus a lot of sambal, waaahh ... a portion of tekwan can immediately publish my saliva.

Not many people sell tekwan like they sell baso. That's why to get a bowl of tekwan in South Tangerang, where I currently live, I have to order a visa online at a service.

However, the good news is that not far from where I live, there is an impromptu market that only exists every Sunday morning. Well, at this market, which is only open until 11am and only on Sundays, there is one tekwan seller. As a result, every Sunday morning, I have a routine of hunting down a bowl of tekwan, before it's overrun by other shoppers. LoL.

That's my story with a bowl of typical Palembang tekwan. I hope you, fish lovers everywhere, can try this Asian food. Thank you for reading my story. Have a great weekend,
