Jesus felt compassion for the great multitude, not only for their physical needs but for their spiritual needs. Today, just as in Jesus' time, the harvest represents all those people who today have no hope.
These people need salvation, someone to guide them to Jesus. But we are the ones who must act, and there are very few who are willing to work, to go out of their communities to make Jesus known and share the faith and truth of God.
Sometimes we think this calling is simply for pastors or missionaries, but I want to tell you that this calling is for you and me, and for anyone who understands that life is not simply about living, but that we have a great purpose in God, and there are many who need God through us.
Today, like many other times, we can pray all of this, but we also have to take action and be part of the answer to that prayer. We must dedicate our time and work with a willing heart, ready to bless others.
Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few." 38 Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest.

Jesús sentía compasión por la gran multitud, no solamente por sus necesidades físicas sino por su necesidad espiritual. Hoy exactamente como en el tiempo de Jesús la mies representa a todas aquellas personas que hoy no tienen esperanza.
Éstas personas necesitan la salvación, alguien que les guíe a Jesus. Pero los que tienen que actuar somos nosotros y hay muy pocos que están dispuestos a trabajar, a salir de su comunidad para dar a conocer de Jesús y compartir la fe y la verdad de Dios.
Hay veces que pensamos que este llamado simplemente para los pastores o los misioneros pero te quiero decir que este llamado es para vos y para mí y para cualquier persona que entiende que la vida no es simplemente vivir sino que tenemos un propósito grande en Dios y hay muchos que necesitan de Dios a través de nosotros.
Hoy como muchos otros momentos podemos orar todo esto pero también tenemos que tomar acción y ser parte de la respuesta de esa oración, debemos disponer nuestro tiempo nuestro trabajo con un corazón predispuesto listo para bendecir a otros.
Entonces dijo a sus discípulos: A la verdad la mies es mucha, mas los obreros pocos. 38 Rogad, pues, al Señor de la mies, que envíe obreros a su mies.
