South Jakarta Kite Museum: The Story Behind the Cloth and the Wind
Hello Worldmappin friends! How are you all doing? Usually, I can only see kites in the high sky like when I played with my friends as a child. However, this time... I went to a place with a variety of different kites. From ordinary kites, to those with unique shapes and designs, there was a museum here.
I didn't know that there was a kite museum near my house. I found out from my friend who told me that there was a kite museum in my area. Well, to fulfill my curiosity, I finally decided to visit this place and really found an amazing experience.
The kite museum is located in a fairly quiet area. Once inside, you are immediately greeted with a collection of kites of various shapes and sizes. Before looking at the kites, I was told to watch a program about kites. The duration of the show was about fifteen minutes, but because I was in a hurry... I didn't watch until the end. Here I learned about the origins of kites and it was explained that kites are not only popular in Indonesia, but also in many other countries. Countries like Japan, China and Thailand have their own interesting kite traditions... There are also stories about how kites are used in scientific research, such as weather experiments or as a tool to measure wind.
Worldmappin friends, if you're in Jakarta, I highly recommend stopping by the Kite Museum. Besides being able to see many interesting collections, you can also learn a lot about the culture, traditions and philosophy behind kites. So, if you are looking for a place that is unique and different from the usual, the Kite Museum in South Jakarta can be an exciting destination to visit!
